"But how do you know I know." I ask.

"Every vampire has their own power. Mine is I can read peoples minds and Zack has incredible strength and speed. I knew you were close and I could hear your voice and so I focused on listening to your conversation to yourself." Leigh explained.

"Well thanks you for talking to me about it. Do you know why?" I asked.

"No, I'm sorry he only just told me them. I do know that he feels happy when he is around you. You make he laugh and smile. He is actually quite protective of you."

Zack, protective of me.

"Well that's sweet of him. We better get back to class." I say before turning my back and walking off.

Leighton grabbed my shoulder and turned me around.

"Melody."

"Yes?"

"Please don't tell him. Act like you know nothing."

"What are you talking about?" I say as I giggle.

Leigh laughed at my joke and we both walked back to class. We entered the room and I sat in the middle of the room. The teacher marked the role and the class began. The task today was to research art done that tells a story about the war. I grouped up with Leigh and Zack.

Once we had found the pieces of art we had to continue out own art. I walked up to the front of the room and grabbed an exacto knife and a board. I sat back down at my desk and started. Zack watched on like a hawk, carefully watching every movement I made. All of a sudden I slipped and cut my finger.

"Ouch!"

Zack quickly grabbed my hand and checked out the wound.

"Melody are you ok!" He said with a worried face.

"MISS! May I please take Melody up to the front office?"

"Zack really I'm fi........" I said as I got cut off mid conversation.

"Yes you may Zack."

Zack went and go me some tissues to put on my finger for the time in which we walked up to the office. I softly grabbed my other hand and started to walk out of the classroom. He started walking quicker and quicker by the minute. I stopped.

"Zack stop!"

"Melody I need to get you......"

"Zack, I'm fine really. I just need to clean it up. We heal quick."

"Melody please..."

"Zack, I'm fine, really."

"Melody I'm sorry I just......look out for you."

"I know it's fine."

I went silent for a minute before pulled Zack into a hug. It was awkward at first before me put his arms around me to.

"Let me just wash it off and then we can go back to class ok?"

"Ok."

I walked to the bathroom, washed my cut out and then headed out to meet Zack. We slowly walked back to class. Before we walked into the class Zack stopped me.

"Melody?"

"Yes?"

"Are you free this afternoon? To maybe hang?" Zack said as he blushed.

"Sure. Meet me in the woods at 3:30. We will go for a run. I heard that your pretty fast?"

Zack giggled.

"Yep. See in the woods at 3:30."

"See you then!"
