About twenty-five minutes into their nap, Rena opened the door to her son's room. She smiled widely when she saw her son and his boyfriend sleeping together. Taking out her phone, she snapped a picture of the couple and said, "Wake up, or we're leaving both of you." Alek removed his hands from his partner and stretched his arms behind his head. Forgetting about August for a second, he sat up. This woke August up a bit. The smol ginger leaned against his tall boy who softly said, "Get up, it's about time to leave..." Tiredly, the couple put their shoes on and found their wallets. Being somewhat smart, Alek remembered to grab his jacket on the way to the car.

In the car, Alek was on his phone and August was taking a nap with his head resting on Alek's shoulder. The taller of the two had taken several pictures of the adorable napping boy. After they had been driving for about fifteen minutes, Dave looked into the rear-view mirror at them and asked, "So, how long have you guys been together?" Alek felt his face heat up as he replied, "O-oh, um, we aren't an official couple yet, I guess. I mean, we've known each other for almost the whole school year, but that's about it." Rena giggled, "You two spend an awful lot of time together and do lots of couple things. You might as well be official starting now." Alek shook his head slightly, "Not yet. Aug still needs to come out to his parents. August sleepily lifted his head and around, "Wha-? Are you talking about me?" Alek nodded, "Yeah, I was talking about how we can't be a completely official couple because you haven't come out to your fam yet."

Around half an hour later, the four arrived at the restaurant. Alek nudged August, "Hey, we're here." Slowly, August raised his head from Alek's shoulder, "Already?" Alek nodded before getting out.

As the four walked to the door, Alek sped up a bit to hold it open for the rest of his group. The two adults thanked him and August smiled a bit before leaning up to kiss his cheek. Alek blushed as he followed the short ginger to the table for four. Dave and Alek both pulled the chairs out for their partners to sit in before sitting in their own seats. While Rena and Dave looked at the menu, August glanced over at Alek, who seemed to be having a stare down with a little girl. August elbowed him and said, "Stop that." Alek narrowed his eyes, not looking away from the kid, "No. I cannot be defeated by a four year old." August sighed and shook his head as he picked up the menu.

After they had been there for about five minutes, the waitress came. She asked for their drink orders. Rena giggled a bit as she answered, "I'd like the Pinot Noir," motioning to Dave, she continued, "And he'd like a Mountain Dew." The blonde girl copied that down and looked to Alek. Alek looked at August. August said, "He'd like a water and I'll have unsweetened ice tea." The girl smiled and said, "I'll be back with your drinks in a few."

When she had walked away, August looked at the black haired boy next to him, "You okay, boo?" Alek nodded as he kept looking at his menu. Slightly confused by how he was acting, he glanced over to Rena. Alek's mom looked from Auggie to Alek, before softly saying, "Hey, Al. Are you okay? Do you need some air?" Alek shook his head and remained quiet. August lightly placed his hand on his partner's thigh. He could feel Alek shaking and removed his hand when the boy removed his jacket. Soon enough, Alek excused himself and headed to the bathroom with August trailing behind him.

Once they were alone in the bathroom, Alek let out a sigh of relief. August placed a hand on his lower back. "What's wrong?" "My anxiety has been really bad lately and I might know why..." August waited for him to continue. "I think it's gotten worse because I'm scared of what you think of me when I do certain things. Or when we're being affectionate around other people; I feel like they're going to hurt us or make fun of us, or something." August hugged him lightly, "I'd never let anything happen to you. Do you want me to stay in here with you for a bit longer?" The taller one nodded. So, as they two stood together in silence, Alek took deep breathes to calm himself. After a few minutes, Alek took August's hand in his and took him back to the table where their drinks were waiting.

Alek drank some of his water, while August took a sip of his tea. Curious, Alek waited for August to be invested in his conversation with Dave before sneakily snatching the cup. Except he wasn't so sneaky and August saw him taking a small sip of the brown liquid. Alek made a face at how bitter it was, causing Dave, Rena and August to all giggle a bit. Smiling softly, Auggie asked him, "How did that taste, dear?" Alek replied after taking a drink of his water, "It was v bitter. How do you drink it like that?" August laughed and shrugged, "With my mouth and a straw, I guess."

When the waitress came for their food orders, Dave ordered his own and Rena's, "She'll have the chicken pasta with guacamole on the side an' I'll have the rarest steak ya got." When it was his turn, August said, "I'd like the calamari and he'll have the bourbon salmon with avocado as his side." After it was all copied, the nice waitress left the group's table.

After she left, August narrowed his eyes as he turned to talk to Alek. "Did you see the way she looked at you?" Alek nodded, "Yeah. Was there something specific she was staring at?" August sighed, "I love you, but you can be so stupid. She was attempting to flirt with you." "Oh. Why? Doesn't my tie clearly say gay?" August smiled a bit as he looked at his significant other's tie. The tie had small rainbows that surrounded by black block letters that spelled out "GAY". Rena looked at her son's tie from across the table, "When did you get that?" Alek decided to play dumb, "I don't know what you're talking about." The black haired woman crossed her arms and sighed, "You better tell me where you got that tie, Alek." He looked at his plate, "I have no idea what you're talking about? What tie?" She narrowed her eyes and leaned towards him, "Alek Ãkuluk Edvard Hans Bastian Køhler, tell me where the hell you got the tie from. Now." Swallowing, Alek decided to reply, "Fine. I got it from an online store that I forget the name of. Is that the answer you wanted?" She nodded and August noticed how similar the two were.

When the food finally came, the four people started to eat. Rena and Dave each fed each other a bite, so Alek stabbed a piece of salmon and silently offered it to August. August smiled as he took the bite. The smol ginger offered Alek a bite of his calamari. Alek took a tiny bite of it before going back to eating his own food. August watched in confusion and disgust as he watched Alek spred avocado all across his salmon.

When Rena got up to go to the bathroom, Dave leaned across the table and softly said to the two boys, "When we leave, I'm plannin' on proposin' to Rena. Any tips?" Alek was taken aback, but August answered, "Sir, we're still in high school. Why would we know anything about proposing?" Dave shrugged, "Anyway, could one of you record it and the other take pictures?" The two nodded.

After Rena came back, Dave paid and the four headed out the door. Once they were all outside, August and Alek got their phones out. They watched as Dave said, "Rene, could ya hold on a sec?" She nodded and watched him get down. As he tied his shoe, he pulled a ring out of it and held it out to Rena as he said in a gentle voice, "Rena, I know that some days I seem hard on you and I always seem to be in a bad mood, but when ever you just begin to speak to me, I instantly feel better. You're exactly what I need in life. You're what Lillian is looking for in a mother. And above all of that, I don't know anyone else who can put up with all of my crap. So, will you marry me, Rena Akik Allison Allisuna Køhler?" Rena covered her mouth as she nodded, "Yes. Yes! I will freaking marry you, David Rackson!" He slipped the ring onto her finger and stood up. She pulled him into a tight embrace while Alek and August watched. August had a slight smile on his face and Alek didn't show any emotion.

On the drive home, Rena talked all about her plans for her future with Dave, while Alek stared out the window with a blank expression. August noticed this.

Once they were inside the house, August took Alek's hand and led him to his bedroom. Alek shut the door behind them and let out a deep sigh as he removed his tie. August tossed his own tie onto the spinny chair by the desk. When Alek had already changed, August was just standing there in his underwear. Alek looked him up and down, "Are you going to put clothes on?" August answered, "I forgot to bring some." Shaking his head, Alek opened a drawer and tossed a pair of pants to the smol boy. August put them on and noticed that they matched Alek's.

After the taller of the two had crawled under the blankets, August quickly followed. He got as close as he could to Alek, who wrapped and arm around his waist. The two soon fell asleep.
