Third person:
It had been a few days since she seen the young boy outside the airport, yet she couldn't stop talking about his watch.
"You should have seen it, honey! It was beautiful and black..." She told her husband as they drove down the interstate. They were going on a little road trip and had been driving for awhile. The husband took note of the roadsigns, not exactly sure where they were. He didn't much care though; it was fun just driving around with his wife.
"You said it was square?" He asked, genuinely interested.
Ever since he was a little boy, he'd been studying watches and how the matching worked.
"Mm hmm." The woman nodded. "It had a letter on the inside and the hands were– oh my god!"
She slammed on the breaks, skidding a few yards. Reflexively, her husband put an arm across her chest for safety. Ignoring the traffic backing up behind them, the woman jumped out of the car and ran towards the side of the road, going into the grass.
"That's it!" She yelled at her husband.
"Look!" She pointed to the billboard he had payed no attention to.There was a man— at least they thought it was a man— the woman wasn't sure with all the makeup and long hair. Anyway, he was on the billboard wearing a white t-shirt, the black watch standing out. Despite that, there was a picture of the watch by itself blown up to show the details.
Seen this watch? Please call XXX-XXX-XXXX
The letters couldn't be missed.
"Oh it's not too late! Call him, Shannon. Hurry!"
After taking a snapshot of the board, they got back in their car, apologizing profusely to the people behind them. Most seemed understanding. The man got behind the wheel and without a moment's delay, she dialled the number.
