"You want me to what?!" Severus  Snape sneered in pure shock, his dark eyes glowing with rage.

"Look after Harry." Albus Dumbledore said with a smile, walking to stand next to Minerva.

"Why would I look after the brat? Can't anyone else care for him?" Snape demanded, scowling.

"I'm afraid not Severus." Dumbledore replied tiredly. "Minerva and I are too old and as you know, Sirius is in Azkaban."

"And Remus isn't exactly in the best mental state at the moment considering what happened last month..." Minerva added.

"Well, neither am I!" Snape snapped. "You know how close Lily was to me, Albus."

Albus sighed sadly and nodded. "I understand Severus, but there really isn't anyone else."

Snape took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "Fine." He growled. "I'll take the boy, but do not expect me to be kind to him."

Minerva's eyes darted to Severus who didn't flinch. "Are you going to ignore the poor child?" She demanded.

"If I must, yes." Snape replied coldly. "The brat is still Potter's son, therefore the bane of my existence."

"Besides, why does the brat even need looking after? He is in the care of those muggles." He added.

"Severus, I did not get a chance to tell you...but Harry is being mistreated by the Dursley's." Albus explained.

Snape's eyes widened. "What? Then why isn't he here right this very moment?" He demanded.

"That's why we were trying to find someone to care for him, otherwise he may be shipped to an orphanage." Albus said, shaking his head.

"It's just for a while, till we can find a suitable home for him, it's not forever." Minerva proposed.

Snape sighed, finally giving in. "What's the address?" He asked in a monotone voice.

A moment later, Snape found himself at Number Four Pivot Drive, where young Harry was supposedly staying.

He begrudgingly knocked on the door. Immediately a large, overweight man appeared. He  looked at him distastefully.

"You...get away from here and never come back! I know you, you're that magical folk, well get out!" Vernon yelled.

Severus stood his ground. "I am here for Potter, and I hear you have been mistreating him." He said in a monotone voice.

Vernon's eyes immediately widened. "About time! Here, take the brat, he's just an annoying freak, save me the trouble."

Severus was shocked as a very thin and terrified-looking baby with vibrant green eyes was shoved harshly into his arms.

He could noticeably saw the child's ribs and he had so many bruises and cuts on his tiny body that it nearly brought Snape to tears.

"You monsters, look what you've done to him! You and your wretched family will suffer Dumbledore's wrath!"

At that moment, a skinny woman carrying a very fussy and very overweight baby in her arms with much difficulty.

"Oh, it's you...I still don't know what my foolish sister ever saw in you, no wonder she went for James!" She commented.

Snape's nostrils flared and he was tempted to cast a spell on them, but...he knew he couldn't risk harming Potter's spoiled cousin.

"You will all be jailed for the abuse of a child, you're all dispicable muggles and you are lucky I'm not about to cast a spell on you!" He hissed
