~Crush's POV~

(Y/n) comes home from college, groaning as she plops down on the couch.

We're both in college, majoring in art. Struggling with expenses, we moved into an apartment together.

It wasn't a nice one either. It's one of those small, two bedroom, one bathroom apartments.

"How was class?" I ask her.

"I am running out of paints and I don't think I can afford some new ones." She covered her face, her way of coping with stress.

"I can lend you some money. Besides, I just got new paint yesterday." I told her.

"No, it's fine. I'll just borrow paint or something. I'll find a way."

"Nonsense." I muttered, getting up and walking to my backpack. "Here." I pulled out my wallet. "Take what you need."

"No, it's fine." She repeated.

"Could you stop and just accept the offer?" I crossed my arms over my chest, throwing my wallet on the couch.

She sighed and opened my wallet, taking out about a hundred dollars.

"You can take more."

"No, this is enough for my next project." She said, placing my wallet on the coffee table.

A few months later.

"Almost done!" (Y/n) exclaimed as she finished her application form.

She found a job offer somewhere out of the country. I'm very happy for her.

"I'm really hoping I can get this job. It involves something I love and it seems to pay well." She continued talking about how much she wants this job.

She's too cute.

~•~

"Oh my gosh!" (Y/n) screamed from her bedroom. I jump off the couch and run into her bedroom.

"What happened?" I asked, concerned.

"I got the job!" She jumped out of her seat. "I got the job!" She repeated, a wide smile on her face.

I smiled, congratulating her. I brought her in my arms and hugged her tight.

"All I need to do is finish this year and find an apartment then I can start the new job!" She squealed.

I never got to tell her.

"When do you have to leave?" I asked, pulling away.

"Preferably a few weeks after we graduate." She sighed. "I'm gonna have to start looking for an apartment."

I nodded and left her room.

I grabbed my phone and called my best friend.

"Hey."

"Hey (c/b/f/n). I need help." I sighed, sitting down on the couch. He hummed in response. "You know I like (y/n), right? Like really like her."

"Yeah." He said. "What do you need help with?"

"She found a job. The job is out of this country." I said. "How do I tell her I like her?"

"Just say it, dude." He said. "So what if she doesn't feel the same way? Just spit it out."

"When do I tell her? Graduation day?"

"Up to you. The sooner the better."

~•~

A week after graduation day.

I went into her bedroom. She was packing up the last of her things.

She's leaving tomorrow morning.

"Hey (your nickname)."

"Oh, hi (c/n)." She turned around to face me. "What is it?"

"Can I tell you something?"

"Sure."

"Look, I'm not going to waste any time and just say it. I like you, (y/n). I really do." I confessed. "And if you don't feel the same, that's fine. I just hope we can stay friends."

"(C/n), why didn't you say anything sooner?" She asked. "I like you too."

I was in shock.

"Say it again?"

"I like you too." She repeated. "I could've changed my mind, but I can't anymore." She sighed. "If you're gonna ask me to be your girlfriend then it's a yes, but I won't be beside you every second of the day."

Now I'm starting to regret waiting.

"We can do long-distance." I suggested. "Maybe after a few months, I can move there with you."

"Let's do that." She smiled.

~•~

I dropped her off at the airport.

"Goodbye (y/n)." I said, hugging her while she hugged me back. "Text me when you land." She pulled away and nodded.

"I'll see on video chat." She smiled. "And maybe after a couple months."

"Yeah."

~•~

1 year later.

I can finally move in with (y/n). All my stuff is packed. I tell her I'm on my way.

I walk out the door, taking one last look at the apartment flat I've stayed in since freshmen year of college.

Goodbye old apartment.

I locked its door and went down stairs to the lobby.

I got in a cab and went to the airport.

~•~

I landed. I got my luggage and searched for her.

I finally spot her near the airport's exit. I walk up behind her and hug her.

She gasped and turned around.

"(C/n)!" She exclaimed, jumping back into my arms. "I missed you!"

"I missed you too, (y/n)."

That night, I was finally back with the one I love.
