BEEB.
Let me sleep!
BEEB. BEEB.
The blanket is so warm.
BEEB. BEEB. BEEEEEEEEB
I get it, fine!
Grumbling, I crawled out of the blanket and hammered down on the damned alarm clock. I never have been a morning person, and I had got something against alarm clocks in general and vice versa, but I _never_ had an alarm this annoying before! Next time, I would ask Steve to knock on my door to wake me when he got up, it would be definitely more pleasant than this annoying thing next to my bed.
I stayed in the bed for a few more moments, enjoying the softness of my underground, but I knew I had to get ready sometime soon. It typically didn't took me long to get ready in the morning, especially when it meant to get a little bit more sleep. Thus, it was half past nine and I had to get up right now.
Groggily, I went into the bathroom of my temporary room brushed my teeth, combed my hair, freshened up my face with water. I was able to use my left arm more and more without it hurting, so I nearly forgot it was injured if it weren't for the bandage.
The wardrobe was the next thing on my morning list. Due to my morning tiredness and lack of time, I put on a random hot pants and the first top I got into my hands. I didn't really care if these clothes looked good with my bandage or not.
After that, I had to comb my hair again. I left my room with my comfortable sneakers on a quarter to ten. My thoughts cleared as the tiredness shock off and I had to realise, that I hadn't the faintest idea where Bruce' lab was. How was I supposed to locate it on something as big as the Helicarrier?
Hoping that Steve might be able to help me, I knocked on his door. Knocked a second time. A third time. Without any response. The common room was empty and after I had built up the courage to try it at the other doors of the Avengers, I was just as clever as I was before.
I guess, I had to do it on my own somehow.
Steve hadn't mentioned any lab on this floor, so I entered the elevator, just to let out a sigh of annoyance. The floors had tags stating what they were meant for. And I wasted my time with searching the whole Avengers-area for someone to help me out!
2 - bridge
3 – surveillance
4 – Avengers
There! 5 – studies
Relieved, I pushed the button and the doors closed. The drive didn't take long until the doors opened again with a 'bing' and I stepped out in a hurry. If the clock inside the elevator was right I had five minutes to be on time. I looked from left to right and from right to left. A big hall spread out in front of me. Individual labs were separated by walls of glass, but I couldn't make out Bruce anywhere.
Since I didn't had time to stand around, I made my way through the labyrinths of laboratories. Most of the labs were empty, but that didn't help me with finding Bruce. I got deeper and deeper into the tangle of glass walls.
"Summer, over here!" Finally, Bruce had found me in this maze.
Happily, I turned around to see himon the other side of the path I just entered.
"Good morning", I greeted the scientist with a relieved smile on my face, "Sorry for being late, I got lost on the way."
"No problem, I figured that might happen", Bruce replied, navigating me into his lab and pointing towards a couch I should sit on.
The Doc gathered some medic devices, of which I could name only a few, like a blood pressure meter, and lied them onto the couch next to me. He put on latex gloves and began to unwrap my bandage.
"For your own sake, try not to move suddenly,."
"I'll try my best."
I didn't want to look at the shoulder so I closed my eyes for the most part and looked around Bruce' lab in the remaining time. After 30 minutes, Bruce was done with his investigation and put away his medic stuff, therefor he opened a drawer and got a new bandage in the color blue. I had gotten used to my new appearance, so I had to admit that it looked a lot better with that blue bandage than it had looked with the old white one later on.
While Bruce made my bandage, I wanted to get some Information about the injurie, since the Docs at the hospital wing didn't answered any of my questions.
"Sooo, how bad is it?"
"Actually, not that bad", Bruce answered concentrated on getting my bandage right, "Your wound is healing better than I expected. Nevertheless, a scar will remain, I'm afraid."
"No more bikinis then?"
"It won't be that bad", he replied with a smirk and finished his work.
Bruce now faced a pane of glass behind him, using it as a touchpad. I for my part didn't had anything to do, so I just sat there, starting a conversation. "Do you know where Steve and the others could be? I looked for them, but couldn't find anyone."
The addressed one seemed to think a little about the question. "Cap might be down at the gym, Barton could be there as well. Natasha is probably on the bridge with Fury. Ehm.. Tony.. let's see, Oh yeah, Tony wanted to fly back to his Strak-Tower as soon as possible to get the reparation started. And Thor left to visit a certain Jane Foster yesterday after you went to bed. He can't get Loki back to Asgard for a few more days, so he wanted to spent some time with her."
"Who's Loki?"
"Thor's brother. Well, adoptive brother. He's also the one responsible for the Chitauri Invasion."
"How could you not mention him yesterday? Wait", I paused as I remember what Bruce had told me just a few moments ago, "He's still here on earth? Probably right on this Carrier?"
"Well..., yeah" Bruce responded with a tone of Voice that showed that he didn't really like it himself, "Tony's working on something that'll allow Thor to get Loki to Asgard safely."
"Totally reassuring" It was impossible to not get my ironical intention.
After that, it was quiet for some time, I watched Bruce as he worked on something on his glass screen or thought about what I could do today.
"Hey, Bruce. Do you think it might be possible for me to do some sports? I mean, you saw that my shoulder doesn't hurt that much anymore", he looked at me surprised, "I know, I have to be patience about this, but I can't sit in my room the whole day anymore. And you mentioned that Steve might be at the gym, so I figured I..."
"You're doing sports?"
"Yeah, if I have time, and nowadays I've got more than I can handle."
"You've got a point, but I don't know about that, Summer", he sad understanding, "But as you said yourself, something like your injurie needs time and I'm responsible for you right now."
"Please Bruce", I started to beg, "I'll only do something that won't be hard on my shoulder."
He thought about it a few moments, a few long moments. "You won't let me say no, will you?" I just smiled at him innocently. "Okay... I'll take a look at your shoulder again in three days, same place and time, and if everything seems alright, then you can go down to the gym."
I couldn't believe my ears. "Really? Thanks Bruce!" I jumped from the couch and hugged him.
"Yeah... but only for 30 minutes and _only_ something your shoulder can handle... We'll see how that works and maybe we can stock up on the time limit."
"That's more than doing nothing all day" I said happily, while Bruce started to concentrate on his data on the screen again. "I'll leave you alone, then. I don't want to distract you more than I already did."
"You're not distracting, actually it's nice to have someone to talk to from time to time. But if you want to go, then I guess I'll see you later."
"Yup, laterz."
On the way out however, a blanket that was thrown over something on a desk slowly found it's way to the ground. I must have touched it somehow, while approaching the door. I kneeled down to get the blanket since I didn't want to cause chaos in Bruce' lab. The Doc himself had already noticed my stop halfway through the room, and saw what I had done. "You don't have to pick that up, I'm doing it myself later."
"It's fine, I just quickly put that back in place." I was in a good mood. Well, I had been, but it changed as soon as I saw what the blanket had been there for. Right there on the table was one of those Alien spear weapons, and my good experiences with those gave me Goosebumps.
"It's just here for research purposes", Bruce tried to explain himself, as he took the blanket from my frozen self and put it next to the weapon. Guess, now that it's out in the blue I didn't made any sense hiding it again.
"Did you investigate Thor's hammer as well?"
"Sorry, what?" b
"Thought so", I mumbled just loud enough that Bruce could hear it. "Well, I should really go now." And I left, having to navigate through the maze of labs again, that weren't that empty anymore.
Back in my room at the Avenger floor, I did the only possible thing: I grabbed my book and started to read. Of cause, I wanted to know how the story continued, but mainly to distract me from the thoughts that the Alienweapon that got me here and the crazy Loki were both just a few decks below me.
It knocked. "Summer, wake up." Steve's voice sounded from the other side of the door.
"Hmmmm", I grumbled back.
"I have to go and you have to get up", he said again.
This time, I could take more time to actually get out of bed. Sure, Steve woke me up earlier than my alarm would, but it was also easier to not get up with the desire to punch something, preferably the alarm clock.
My morning routine went by and I found myself standing in front of the wardrobe searching for some sporty clothes, as this would hopefully be the day I'd get some sport done. The area was completely empty again, but I only stopped by the kitchen to get a bottle of water, I knew how to get to Bruce' lab now, so I didn't have to worry about no one being there to help me.
Being at the laboratory floor, however, was a whole different story. I accomplished to get lost I in the maze of glass again, but I found what I was looking for, just as the cock hit ten in the morning this time.
"Good Morning."
"Morning"
I didn't wait for Bruce to ask me to get onto the couch.
"I assume, you still want to go down to the gym, going by your clothes?" Bruce determined with a sigh, putting his medical devised next to me.
"Yepp."
"Well, then let's see if it'll be possible."
Bruce started to unwrap my bandage again, I barely noticed it though. My gaze had gotten stuck on the alien weapon again, and I couldn't look away from it. Maybe I feared, that it would jump from the table and attack me again if I looked away.
I kept staring at this thing until a stitch followed by a pulling in my right arm caught me off guard, demanding me to look at what caused it. And I didn't like what I saw. "
"Stay calm", Bruce advised, while drawing blood from me, "It'll be over soon."
"But you... What... WHY?", I stuttered terrified.
"There is a note in your medical file that you're not very fond of syringes..."
"slightly understated..."
"... so I thought it would be better to start this, when you're distracted", Bruce explained with a slight apologizingly tone to his voice, as he finished his worked a short while after.
"How do you even get access to my files?", I asked him to change the topic a bit.
"I don't, SHIELD does"
"still creepy", I said to myself.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing. But does that make such a difference?"
"Yes, it does.", the Doc replied, not going further into detail, "Anyway, you're allowed to visit the gym. But remember, only 30 minutes and you stop the moment your shoulder starts to hurt."
"Got it", I hugged him again, "Thanks. I'll get going, if that's alright?"
He nodded, as I carefully walked past the alientechnology on the table. "You know it won't jump up and attack you, right?"
"You sure? Have you investigated on that yet?"
"Your point."
"two to zero", Bruce looked at me confused, "I was also right with the shoulder not hurting too much to do sports"
I waved goodbye at him and left for the elevator, it was time to finally do something again!
