I woke up in the darkness, then I felt cold sweat over my back.

Holy crap I need to pee. I thought. I looked around me, Martin and Jaycee were sleeping soundly, it had to be around 4am in the morning or something.

And I wanted to pee so fucking bad.

I panicked, of course bathroom's were bad ideas. It was always a scene of every horror movie, like bathrooms were practically metaphors for death. But then I felt my bladder begging for mercy so I stood up. I took the pistol and held on to it as I cautiously opened the door and checked the hallway. As Martin had said, it was an abandoned ward. The whole place was deserted, I made my way looking over my shoulder occasionally. The last thing I wanted was an ambush in the dark but then again zombies made sounds, so I'd know when one was near.

The restroom was at the end of the hallway, I pushed the curtains back inside and felt my heart drop as I saw a dead person in there. No, not zombie dead just person dead, he had a doctor's scrub suit on and apparently had committed suicide. I put my hand over my chest trying to calm myself down. I looked away as I opened the bowl seat, I swear that as soon as I did it the song 'Let it Go' was just blasting in my head. As soon as I left I let out a sigh of relief.

Okay, that broke the taboo about bathrooms, I wasn't dead.

When I stood up I stared at my reflection in the mirror. Then I put my hands over my mouth as I saw a figure staring at me. I pointed the gun at it, but it was a little kid. Around eleven or twelve and pretty much alive and most importanty, human.

"Holy shit, you scared me kid!" I hissed, trying hard ot to scream. But the kid was crying when he realized that I was alive and not zombie, he ran over to me and began to cry. "Hey, hey are you okay?" Then he sniffed, "No, Sharla got bitten!" He cried.

Then I heard a groan and the hairs on my arm shot up. I turned around and saw a zombie little girl, seriously she was like Amityville's Jodie with her left cheek rotting off. She was staring at me in a crouched position and she was hissing or making weird salivating sounds I her mouth, I paused still holding the handgun, then I pushed the boy over to the bathroom.

She pounced at me, letting out a high pitch battle cry as she did. I grabbed a tray full of syringes and threw it at her, it seemed to anger her more as she violently clenched her teeth until black blood started to flow through her mouth. I was still feeling the pain on my legs that it took me a while to stand, then I heard footsteps. At first I had prayed it would be Martin and Jaycee, but of course I was wrong because two more zombies were staring at me. One was still in her intern uniform.

The I went for the kill.

Unfortunately in the darkness I missed the head and shot it's shoulder instead, then the zombie kid got on her knees and tried to tackle me. She missed when I knocked another tray on her, I ran towards the nurse's counter and began throwing whatever I could at them. It seemed to have worked because as I knocked the student nurse zombie cold. I grabbed a mug and threw it straight to the other zombie's mouth, knocking over it's teeth. Then I cocked my gun and shot it headfirst. Hasta Lavista Baybeh!

But the zombie kid was annoying as ever, it jumped over to where I was with the agility of an olympic gymnast. I screamed in fear this time, if you saw her and what she looked good God you'd be terrified too. I tried to fire shots but I dropped the gun when she made another attempt to turn me into her personal zombie snack. Then I heard a shot and I looked up.

I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a man in a soldier's uniform.

"Oh my God" I tried not to say it so loud. He looked at me, he was around his early 40's or something and he had a face hardened by war. "Jesus Christ, are you here to save us?" I cried. He didn't say anything, instead he turned around and left as if he was finished with scanning the building. "No, no wait! My friends are in the same ward we have to go get them! They're probably still asleep!"

But the man kept walking, he didn't even motion me to follow him. I ran up to him blocking his way, "Wait, please wait!" I was in the verge of tears now. Then I remembered, "There's a kid here with me!" I cried. The man paused then he turned around. "What's his name?" I started to run back to the bathroom with the soldier on my trail. "I, I don't know. Hey kid? Hey it's me your safe now" I opened the bathroom door then the little kid ran up to me as soon as he heard my voice. When he saw the soldier, more tears fell from his face. "Shane Gonsalves!" The soldier said. "Where's your sister Sharla?" He asked, wiping dust off the little boy's head. Shane started to cry, then I realized that the solider had just killed Sharla and spilled her guts all over the nurse's station.

"Oh Shane, I'm sorry. But your dad's safe. He's with us now, he said you two were instructed to wait in the hospital. We scanned Chong Hua and couldn't find you so we reverted our search here." The soldier explained. So the kid had a search party for him? Wondering why, I couldn't help but ask, "Wait, you were searching for him? So you had orders?" The soldier looked at me, "Pardon me Ma'am but I'm Officer Lauron. I work for the army." Okay I got that. Before he could continue, Martin and Jaycee arrived in the scene. "Jesus Christ Emma! Where the fuck did you go?" Martin cussed, catching his breath. "I found Shane and uhm, Office Lauron." I said, Jaycee dropped to his knees and held the officer by his shoulder. "Holy mother of... are you here to save us?" He cried and Martin couldn't help but rejoice with him. I looked at Office Lauron, he looked pensive as he stared at both of them then at me.

Then he let out a breath, "No, I'm sorry, I can only take the kid with me."
