I dropped the phone.

Her scream had pierced through my ears so hard I panicked. "What the hell?" I said. "What? What just happened?" Allen asked. "She, she just started screaming!" I said. There was moment of silence, you know that awful silence before the killer came out? Well you could imagine it I'm sure. After around ten seconds of staring at each other, we heard a crash in the front desk. I spun around, two or three employees were toppled over the reception area. People ran towards where they were and saw it.

I saw it at least, and it was an image that will forever be in my mind.

Remember this; there are two things you can never forget:

1. Your first love

2. The first time you'll ever see a human being eating another human.

I was standing behind the crowd, the two employees were clutching different parts of their body. One was holding his neck and the other was rubbing his shoulder. As soon as I stepped closer, I saw why they were grimacing in pain. They had fresh wounds, not just small puncture ones that glowing vampires bit but they literally had chunks of their flesh bitten off.

But it was one employee, one who I had recognized as Eric the one who designed the websites, he really grabbed my attention. He was crouched over Nicole.

Eating her.

Everything happened in a split second. Someone screamed then the two boys who worked in the same floor as I did convulsed. I didn't look at what happened next. Somehow, everything I learned from watching horror movies helped me realize that nothing good happens from standing in a crowd full of spectators.

The boys became something, then Nicole became something I could hear her screams turning into a thing. Something inhuman, Oh shit, I sprinted as everyone started running. Everything was in chaos, Chris helped me up as a now rabid Allen started to attempt to grab after he was bitten by a once quiet employee named Marl. I knocked a computer chair over Allen and Chris knocked his head with the fire extinguisher.

People were screaming, they had no sense of direction, the smoke alarm went off and everyone were over everyone. We were running towards the end of the office. Me, Chris and Mila. We were huddled as employee after employee followed us. Chris kept throwing chairs knocking whoever (or WHATever) was following us. "Chris stop! They could be still alive!" Mila cried. "Not taking any chances!" Chris said.

When we reached the fire exit, the company messenger Arnie was already fumbling with the keys. "Who locks the fucking fire exit?!!" I asked in frustration. "It automatically opens during a fire and theres no fire!" He said. As soon as he said it, two men landed over him and bit his poor bald head. "WHAT THE FUCK!" Chris screamed. I heard Mila scream too but I just couldn't digest what I was looking at.

My boss was eating our messenger and the head recruiter for HR was gnawing at his leg.

I tried to look away and when I did the I saw the keys on the floor. "Grab it Emma!" Chris shouted and knocked over the vending machine over the three men on the floor. Hot water seeped out and when it contacted with electricity from the computers it caught fire. "Shit! Shit!" I screamed as I reached for the keys. The fire alarm went off and the sprinklers did too. I shook as I tried to get the key into the lock but then it automatically did it itself. "FUCK YOU TECHNOLOGY!" I cursed as a horde of whatever they were came running towards us.

It had seemed that we were the only living humans left in the 7th floor.

Then I swallowed hard, were we the only humans in the whole building? What about the whole world? This must be some bad dream. Nightmares usually had zombies right? Zombies, shit Emma, I slapped my face, no I was awake.

I was in the middle of a fucking zombie apocalypse. So it begins.
