*when jakub and you were younger*
Jakub. The one name that made your heart glow. The one person who filled that empty void in your life. But he was just such an asshole to you. Always knocking your books our of your hand, blaming you for things you didn't do, and really just being an absolute jerk.
As you opened up your locker to exchange your books, there was a post it note stuck right on the mirror. "Meet me behind the bleachers."
That's it. That's all the note said. Not even signed by anyone. You were never a risk taker: just a total nerd who happened to love the Washington Capitals, coincidentally is the team Jakub got drafted by. But, hey, why not take one risk and go to the bleachers.
You had a free period, so you stuffed your books in and grabbed your phone, heading to the bleachers. When you saw Jakub waiting, you immediately pushed up your glasses in shock. "Um, hi? Do you know who left that not in my locker to meet them here?"
He looked up from his phone and smiled. "Hey, Y/N. Nice to see you. It was me."
You blushed but quickly snapped out of it. "W-what? Why?"
"Look, Y/N. I'm really sorry for being such a jerk to you. I mean, it's our senior year, and I have quite a reputation here, you know, going to the NHL and being a hockey player and stuff. Also because I'm a pretty popular guy. Sorry, um, anyways, I would really like it if you came to one of my games sometime," he said, while playing with his hands nervously.
"I'll come, Jakub, thanks," you said, turning around to leave. "Just let me know when." You started to walk away when you felt his hand on your wrist, pulling you back.
"I just hope you know that I really like you. And I mean romantically."
You just scoffed and turned away again. "Yeah, because I believe that."
"Y/N, I seriously do. You're nerdy, but the cute kind. You love hockey and are so kind and caring, and absolutely gorgeous. I hate treating you the way I do because you're the most amazing person I've ever met. Would I be going too far if I said that I might love you?"
You started to tear up and smiled. "Thanks, Jakub. But I seriously feel like this is all a dare, and telling someone you love them as a dare is pretty out there. Nice prank, and I'm still coming to your game. Well, I mean I kind of have to anyways, you know since Y/B/N (Your brother. No sibling? Make up a name 😉) plays. Okay, um, see you," you said. As you were walking away, he just sighed and let you go.
the next day
Today was the day that you were going to Jakub's game. He gave you a jersey to wear with his name on the back of it. You sat front row next to the home bench since it was first come first serve.
The game was quick, Jakub's team winning 1-5. He had scored a goal and pointed at you when he did so, making you blush.
You went downstairs to wait for him to come out. When he did, he had. bouquet of roses with a note. He handed them to you and kissed your cheek which made you blush even more, then walked away.
You quickly tore apart the envelope, the note reading:
"Y/N, I cannot say it enough. I'm so sorry for the way I've treated you. You're so beautiful, caring, understanding, smart, and your smile lights up my world. I don't care about what people think about me anymore or their opinions and my reputation if I'm with you or not.
Y/N, will you be my girlfriend?Xoxo, Jakub."
You smiled as you stuffed the paper in your bag as you ran to Jakub who was farther down the team hallway. You grabbed his arm and turned him around, slamming your lips against his, which was something you had wanted to do for years. "I'll be your girlfriend, Jakub. Is it too early to say I love you? You know, with everything we've been through?"
"Never. I love you, Y/N, with my whole heart," he said, smiling with his big blue eyes sparkling.
"I love you too, Jakub," you said, as he pulled you in for a hug, then leaning down to your face to kiss you again.
He whispered in your ear when you went back to hugging. "This and you are everything I have ever dreamed for. I can never thank you enough for forgiving me and I'm so glad this worked out," Jakub said, grinning as happy as you had ever seen him.
"Me too, J. Me too."
