It was over. 2 years of yours and Connor's lives thrown to waste over some stupid drunken argument. The one fire in your life, the person who made you who you were, gone. Forever.

You were broken. It had been two weeks since your breakup and all you did was lay in bed, watch TV, eat, and cry. Every once in a while you stumbled upon the Oilers games and news. It couldn't hurt to watch, could it?

But it did. Connor was playing terribly, and you felt it was all your fault. Not that he was sad or heartbroken, just thinking about how much you wasted his time and he could have had someone so much better than you.

Your phone next to you started ringing. Leon Draisaitl. Why was he calling? Anyway, you answered. "Um, hello?"

"Y/N, hi. Do you have a second to talk?" He was talking like something terrible had just happened.

You were confused as to why he wanted to talk to you. The two of you used to be pretty good friends before you and Connor broke up. "Uh, yeah, okay. What's up?"

"Well, first, Y/N, how are you? What have you been doing?" Leon asked. Why would he care anyways?

"I'm fine. I haven't done anything in the past two weeks, so that's pretty cool, eh," You laughed.

He just ignored what you said and continued his side of the conversation. "Cool. Hey, so um, have you talked to Connor recently?"

You just sighed and your lip quivered, trying not to start crying again. "Um, no, why," you said, sniffling.

"Y/N, Connor misses you. A lot. He has been so depressed lately, it's insane. He barely gets any sleep and won't talk to anyone. We are all worried, and coach is even thinking about scratching him for a couple of games."

"Leon, I seriously miss him too, a lot. But why do you think this is over me?"

Leon sighed. "Connor loves you. He still does and he always will. You don't know this, but he used to talk about you to all of us all the time. He would say things like: 'She is just the best' or 'Y/N is so beautiful and caring' 'Do you guys think I should tell her I love her?'."

You smiled at what he said. "Really?"

"Yes, Y/N. Always," Leon said, sounding a little more happy then before.

"Thanks, Leon. I got to go, I'm going to Connor's."

"Atta girl. Talk to you later," He said.

"Bye."

You hung up the phone quickly and threw it on your bed. You changed as fast as you could and stuffed your phone in your back pocket. "It's go time," you whispered to yourself.

You still had the keys to Connor's apartment that he gave you. When you opened your front door to leave, Connor was already there. On one knee.

"Hey, Y/N. I'm so sorry for everything I did. Without you, I'm just not myself. You're the most beautiful, charming, caring, kind, and intelligent person I have ever met. I love you so much and I will never stop. You are the other half of me. Y/N, we have come a long way, and you mean the world to me. Y/F/N Y/M/N Y/L/N, will you marry me?"

You were full on bawling. "Connor I," you could barely get any words out so you just nodded through tears. He stood up and pressed his chapped lips against your soft ones. He pulled away. "Y/N, I can't believe I almost let you go. I'm so glad you said yes."

"I'm happy too, mister. Now its time you use some chapstick," you laughed.

"Whatever you say, Mrs. McDavid."
