The Field Trip

Miyoko Misaka started out her day as normal. Caulifla woke her up with a playful smack to the forehead.. and she dragged herself out of bed, put on her sports bra and went jogging with Yang Xiao Long..

This was followed by training with Yang, which Caulifla would watch sometimes..

Then Miyoko would shower, and head down to breakfast with her family. The breakfast would always be accompanied by her father reading the morning paper, her mother making eggs, toast and either sausage or bacon... and her twin sister playing with their little brother. 

Caulifla would chow down on more than usual because of Saiyans and their massive metabolism, and Tatsu would show up at the front door to walk to school with them.

But as Miyoko stepped out the door in her uniform that day, something that was 'not so usual' happened.

Her mother stopped her at the door, and handed both her and Caulifla an overnight bag and several changes of clothes in a suitcase.

"Qrow will be monitoring you all the whole time." said Mikoto breathlessly, a worried look on your face. "So if you ever find yourself in trouble, don't hesitate to call it off.. Older members of the guild will be all over-."

"Mom.. it's All Might's world.. filled with Super Heroes ALL over the place..  we'll be fine." said Miyoko.

"Yeah.. and if anybody tries to hurt us.. I'll kick their asses!" said Caulifla.

"I know you're stronger than most.. but.." Mikoto took a deep breath. "After this mission is over.. I'm taking you to see Shinji Hirako.. "

"What?" Miyoko said, her eyes wide. "B.. But Mama.. Sh.. Shinji is just so..."

"Weeeeiiiirrrd." muttered Caulifla.

"Yeah! What she said."

"Your sister already had to deal with her Hollowfication, and soon you're going to too.. otherwise there's a 50 percent risk of you becoming a full on hollow.. your mask has already manifested several times of it's own accord, and those aren't good signs." said Mikoto. "You need to learn to control it.. "

"She's right sis!" said Mir cheerfully. She held up a hand, and there was a burst of red lightning as a skull-like mask manifested in her hand. "Plus you get a very cool power with a very nifty boost in all your other abilities if you can summon the mask whenever you like! heheheheh."

"Y.. yeah but.." Miyoko trembled.  "Mama.. I heard.. that when you were learning to control your hollow.. you.."

"It's not like that anymore Miyo.." said Touma, walking to the door.  "Shinji's upgraded how he handles helping Visoreds since Kurotsuchi helped research the effects.. it's quick and painless no fuss.. just some sealing Hado.. a few chants.. and some meditation.."

"But.. if your hollow starts to take over.. then it WILL become an issue of battling it out in your inner world.. and odds are, you WILL lose.." Mikoto said seriously. "If your mask starts summoning itself again at ANY point during the job... you abort and come STRAIGHT home.. no excuses.. we don't need to let loose ANOTHER Vasto Lorde into All Might's world.."

"Yes Mama.." Miyoko said quietly.  "And.. wait.. what do you mean ANOTHER Vasto Lorde?"

"Long story.. don't need to elaborate.. now stay safe and have fun!"

Miyoko looked around and then behind her mother, as if trying to find somebody who wasn't there..

"Where's.. you know?"
