hoseok glanced around at his surroundings, a small appreciative hum leaving his lips. he admired the way the stars twinkled and shone, lighting up the night sky. the beautiful imagery before him stole his breath away, drawing the air from his lungs in the form of a sigh. it was beautiful.

a small, barely there noise caught his attention in the screaming silence. turning his head away from the stunning views, he looked to his left. eyes widening in shock, hoseok's brown orbs seemed to brighten even further when he saw someone approaching. someone he'd been waiting for, someone he had been missing for millennia.

"hoseok."

he stood from his spot, straightening his stance. heart hammering against his ribcage, hoseok seemed to be struggling, breath coming out in short stutters. opening his mouth to speak, he was swiftly cut off.

"please wake up, my love. it's been months."

confusion swelled in his chest, a lump forming in his throat. he couldn't go back, not yet. not now. it's too soon, it would be too much for his fragile heart. couldn't his darling lover see that? fear gripped his heart in its freezing hold, goosebumps running up his arms.

"we all miss you, i- i miss you, sunshine. my lovely, my entire world. please, come back to me. i want to hold you in my arms again. it's been very tough without your beautiful smile to light up my mornings."

a sharp pain in his hands made him choke. no. no. it's too soon, he wasn't ready. he wasn't ready to leave yet, he'd spent his teen years wishing and hoping that he'd be able to see what he was seeing now. he couldn't go back.

"i love you so much, my angel."

the pain spread throughout the rest of his body. a scream erupted from his throat, tears spilling from his eyes. too soon. its too soon. he made an effort to turn away from the one he had been wishing to see, back to the beautiful, starry sky before him.

reaching a tender, bruised hand to the sights, a silent scream tumbled from his now dry lips as the stars began to fizzle out, one by one. they disappeared, to his complete and utter dismay. how could they? how could they take away everything he's ever wished and hoped for?

hoseok withered, falling to his knees. tears continued to drip down his honey glazed cheeks as he watched the stars become blinding before they disappeared completely, never to be seen again. he watched until there were only few left, few enough to count on your fingers.

he shut his eyes tightly, hoping that when he opened them again, the stars would be back. counting to ten, hoseok tried to open his eyes again. it was harder this time, but he managed with enough struggling. what he saw, was not what he was expecting. no, it was far, very far from it. instead of the spectacular view he had gotten so used to, he saw white. blinding white.

blinking his bleary eyes, hoseok heard the steady beeping of a monitor nearby. the only problem was that he couldn't see. he blinked a few more times, trying to make the blur go away.

"hoseok?"

he tried to find who said his name. their voice made his heart stutter, tears welling in his eyes. he tried to speak, tried to say something, but he couldn't. his throat was dry, lips cracked. they would probably bleed if he smiled.

"oh my god... g-guys! hoseok's awake!"

the last thing hoseok heard before his vision faded to black once more, was the thud of footsteps and panicked voices yelling out instructions.
