~ long read ahead ~
namjoon had his eyes closed in bliss, listening to the sound of bubbles merging and bumping off each other. breathing in deeply, he sighed, sitting up straight and glancing around.
he admired the plain white around him. there were huge bubbles floating around, bouncing off objects and occasionally merging. there was an odd tune that was always playing whenever he sat here, a few simple noises on repeat.
he thought it was calming. others did not. across the lake, a pure white deer strode into the open area and lowered its head to graze. namjoon watched in awe, setting his hands on his knees and folding his legs under him, leaning forward, as if to see better.
he moved too much too quickly apparently, as the deer snapped its head up, eyes locking on joon. his breath hitched when another set of eyes opened on the deer's face, orbs glowing green. it stared, frozen, before it resumed grazing, paying the boy no mind.
namjoon let out a whoosh of breath he wasn't aware he was holding. he noticed that the antlers were a white as well, with green vines and flowers sprouting from the bone. he made a small noise of confusion. there were less decorations this time around, much less.
despite it, butterflies of all different colours sat upon the vines, wings flapping gently as they walked along the length of the vines. pushing himself up from his seated position, namjoon adjusted the overalls strap on his shoulder, dusting the fabric off from anything that might've been clinging to it.
walking slowly and cautiously, namjoon took a few steps forward, onto the large water lilies that went across the lake. the fog just made everything look much prettier than usual. he smiled at his reflection in the greenish blue water, glancing up at the plain white sky as he slowly made his way across the lake, stepping from lily to lily.
the deer from before looked up again, chewing lazily on the grass hanging from it's mouth. approaching warily, namjoon kept his eyes on the deer, staring into it's beautiful, glowing green eyes. stepping up to it, joon placed a gentle hand on the side of it's face, giving it a gentle scratch under the chin.
the deer closed its eyes, easily leaning into the boy's hand, huffing out contentedly. a smile spread across his lips as he moved his other hand up, giving the large animal before him scritches under and around the neck, eyes blown from his excitement.
a bubble came by soon after, displaying the image of his lover. "joonie baby, it's time to come back home. i've sent peaches to get you." namjoon smiled sleepily and nodded, waving bye to the deer as it strode away elegantly, disappearing into the surrounding fog.
placing himself near the lake, namjoon waited for peaches to arrive. it wouldn't take very long at all, as the house wasn't far from his precious lake.
as predicted, peaches waddled down the path and into the water. peaches was too heavy for the water lilies, so she always had to walk across the water, and that she did. the beautiful white and pink croc walked slowly across the water, eyes focused on where joon was seated.
when peaches finally reached him, joon climbed onto her back, cuddling onto her and buckling himself in with the handmade straps his lover created, all for him. because his pretty seokkie knew so much about him.
seokjin made a safety pouch that namjoon was to climb into whenever peaches went to get him and buckle himself in. with the click of the buckle, peaches set off, waddling back across the water with namjoon nestled snugly into her back. she wasnt the warmest, but seokkie also made a heating pad for the croc, since she got cold easily.
within minutes, namjoon woke up again, but he was being carried into the house by kookie. sighing tiredly, joon wiggled free from the youngest boy's arms, letting himself fall when the boy finally let him go.
instead of being greeted with the cold, hard floor, namjoon landed on something squishy. a cloud, perhaps? checking to see, joon yawned when he saw a bubble supporting him, his favourite kind, with the pink and green reflections on it.
climbing off of the bubble, joon dragged himself up to his room, slipping through the frosted glass door he made specifically so that only he could go in. the others needed a secret password if they wanted to go in. even though they didn't know the right password half the time, joon still let them in.
or, rather, they found a way past his security system. probably hoseokkie. he had a way with technology, so he probably edited his hardware when he wasnt around.
changing out of his overalls and favourite striped t-shirt, joon slipped into the pyjamas he stole from taehyungie, then under his covers.
he dreamed of seeing that deer again, and yoonie making more bubbles for him. he dreamed of jiminie coming back with more pretty rocks and pretty flowers, that they turned into nice flower crowns that they set upon the other's heads.
he dreamed of hoseokkie giving him his old book back, the one he made a special lock for. the one that ended up breaking somehow and locking him out of his book forever. hoseok was always so good at fixing joonie's mistakes, it made him happy.
he dreamed of taehyungie walking along with peaches, the special pack made for him filled to the brim with new ingredients needed in their mixes and potions, a bag slung over taehyung's shoulder as he chattered along, not caring if peaches was listening at all.
he dreamed of kookie lying his head on joonie's lap, with joonie running his fingers through kookie's hair, the youngest of the bunch sleeping contentedly with joonie and jiminie under the pure white weeping willow, groaning when jimin threw himself on kookie.
then he dreamed that seokjin came outside to sit with them under the angel tree, handing everyone their meal buttons and clinging to joonie's back, nuzzling him.
even though he knew the others hated the song that played whenever joonie went near the lake, his eyes teared up at the thought of everyone sitting under the willow, enjoying each other's company and the amazing scenery before them.
they've been too busy recently, all slaving away at their work. especially yoonie. he didn't come out for days, and even though it worried him, namjoon realized that he couldn't do much besides support yoongi and his work.
so he did that. he helped each and every one of them out, offering cuddles when they got too frustrated, or too emotional over not getting the work done on time, according to how they worked.
joonie would always be there for his boys, always. he was their angel, after all. what would his boys be without their angel? probably very sad, that's for sure.
joon woke up later on to see that everyone was snuggled into his bed, cuddling each other, with him in the middle of it, of course.
a sleepy smile appeared on his face and he kissed their cheeks, then happily fell back asleep wrapped in their arms, feeling nice and toasty, just as it should be.
