By the time Jinxx had arrived Andy could barely hear Ashley's desperate pleas for him to say something other than groans of pain or whimpers of pain. He had placed his head in his hands and was crying.
Jinxx didn't seem to be the only one who could find memories Andy had tried to hide. He saw the corpses of so many people he once knew. He saw tortuous punishments being performed on himself and others. He saw...he saw...Jinxx
Jinxx had somehow stepped into his mind and was wrapping his arms around Andy, comforting him, wincing with him at some of the memories. Andy could feel the static slowly fade and all that was left was him and Jinxx hugging in darkness. They stayed that way for a good few minutes before Jinxx helped Andy to his feet.
"Do you think that you'll hold up until we can get you to Jake?" Andy himself didn't know the answer, so he simply shrugged and stepped back into reality. Unfortunately, the pain and feeling of coldness was still there. Jinxx gave him a nervous look before wrapping one arm around him. Ashley did the same and they were soon half-helping half-dragging Andy back to camp. All was going smoothly until Andy looked behind and stopped, ignoring Ashley's questions about whether he was okay and why they had stopped. He opened his mouth and Ashley braced himself, Jinxx however knew exactly what was going to happen.
"Got something to live for,
I know that I won't surrender,
A warrior of youth!
I'm taking over,
I'll shout to the new world order,
I AM BULLETPROOOOOF!"
The ground was shaking with the final word and the guard was on the floor, it's ears oozing a black liquid. Andy stood, swaying and panting before keeling over into Jinxx. Jinxx caught him almost effortlessly before turning to Ashley.
"We need to get him there fast. Could run back to camp and bring Jake."
"Sure, but what about you, how are you going to defend yourself if another guard shows up?"
"I have my ways. You won't have to run as far to us anyway, I'm going to carry Andy as far as I can." Ashley gave Andy one last pitying look before running back to the camp so fast that there was literally a trail of far behind him.
Either Andy had strained himself too much or, more likely, the guards had reopened their old wounds. All the hard work Jake had done was completely reverted. He figured this out when Jinxx picked him up, bridal style, and he let out our strangled scream of pain. With every step Jinxx took, Andy gave out a whimper of pain. After a few hundred yards the static was beginning to return.
"Jinxx...it's back...I can't stop it..." Andy whimpered, painfully tilting his head up so his eyes met the concern filled turquoise ones above him.
"I can't help you. You'd need some kind of actual healer for that but I'm pretty sure that they were all killed in experiments by...FEAR." Jinxx replied, shuddering at the thought of what experiments Andy may have undergone.
"Sure they have. They've died out...just as much as...mind readers have." Andy replied, a weak smirk coming through his face.
"What do you-" Jinxx began, standing still in confusion. Andy had managed to keep the memories and thoughts he wanted to hidden.
"I mean that Jake...has it within him...It just needs... awakening" Andy explained, Jinxx felt a flash of hope as he realised that Andy might well survive. He began to walk on again, letting out a sigh of relief when he saw a pair of figures nearing them. He set Andy down on a nearby slab of rock and lifted his tattered shirt, hastily lowering it when he saw the gruesome mess beneath.
"Aren't I pretty?" Andy chuckled weakly before groaning as a spasm of pain shot through his body.
"In literally every other way." Jinxx mumbled to himself and took off his leather jacket before folding it and using it as a pillow for Andy. Andy could feel a slight bit of colour return to his cheeks and a small, warm, fuzzy feeling attempt to fight back the cold numbness that had all but taken over his body. When Jinxx noticed he too began to faintly blush, fiddling with the edge of his t-shirt in nervousness.
Ashley and Jake had now reached them, Jake's missing markings began to draw themselves as he took in Andy's battered form.
"Okay...everyone stand behind me, none of you need any help and it would just waste my energy." Jake said, his voice wavering a little at the amount of pressure he was in. He could now tell how long everyone had left to live in their current conditions and Andy...he took a deep breath and began to send a chocolate coloured smoke towards Andy which sent off sparks whenever it came into contact with one of his many injuries. Andy began to cry out in pain, causing Ashley to grip onto Jinxx do that he didn't try to go and comfort him.
A suddenly as he had begun, Jake ceased the process, swaying for a while before collapsing from exhaustion.
Andy on the other hand had no such luck. Not only was he still fully conscious by even Jake had been able to close up the slash marks on his chest, merely managing to cease the flow of oozing black liquid and replace it with a crimson trickle. It was evening by now, the moon and stars had managed to fight back the stars once again. Andy knew that one day there would be no night, allowing him to fully appreciate each one. He noticed a constellation that had been previously two points of the now five pointed star. He chuckled softly and reached for his interlooping b's, folding them up so that they fitted over part of the constellation - his part. Ashley did the same. He and Ashley had always known which part was theirs because, very faintly, you could see both their names and their nicknames  on the lines.
Nothing that Andy had been through could make him forget that night.
The night he began to live.
