Andy was exhausted, he hadn't had over an hour's sleep for the past few weeks. He didn't want to let Jinxx down but soon found his head lolling onto his companion's shoulder. Jinxx just chuckled softly and helped him stumble back to their tent. Andy had given up by this point and collapsed in a heap of fatigue as soon as they were inside it.
Andy woke up to the sound of raised voices and instinctively sprinted out of the tent, confusing everyone who had seen Jinxx leave it a moment before. When Andy reached the source of it he saw someone holding CC with a knife at his throat. Andy walked up to him and felt his face darken as he saw that it was one of the escapees who was holding him hostage.
"Get. The. Fuck. Off. My. Brother." He said, straining his voice in an attempt to hide his seething anger.
"And what if I don't?" The kid sneered.
Andy grabbed them by the throat, not caring about the knife that was being stabbed into his other wrist, and lifted them into the air. They had stuck the knife into his hand so hard that they couldn't get it out so Andy pushed them up against a wall, ripped the life out of his flesh and stabbed it through the kids shirt.
"That does." He said, walking away and leaving the kid dangling by his shirt. He headed straight to the blacksmiths, Ashley would need all the help he could get if they would be targeted.
"Why hello sweetie, good to see you're back in town!" Ashley grinned, putting down his tools and drawing Andy into a hug, "To what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?"
"We need weapons. Good ones. And fast." Andy replied, picking up a half-finished spear and hammering it into shape.
"Why can't you come just to say hello? How urgent is this, just so I can prepare my busy schedule around it?" Ashley asked, melting a lot of iron with his hands.
"Well, I just had to stop CC from having his throat slit. So I'd say it is traitors and spies in the camp serious." Andy replied, checking the sharpness of the blade against his finger before dousing it in cold water.
"Great. No drinking, sex or sleep for me then until this whole situation blows over." He grunted, pouring the molten iron into a mold.
"If it's any consolation, I'm in the exact same situation."
"Hold on," Ashley exclaimed, leaving the metal to set, " who the fuck have you been getting laid with?! I've barely ever seen you out of your tent!"
"I never went in my tent. What's it like in there?" Andy replied, smirking at the horror on Ashley's face.
"And they say I'm the sex driven one." He muttered before they both began to fully focus on the task in hand. Ashley had a brief nap but Andy continued for the whole night, only stopping briefly to tie a rag around his hand when the blood flow got in his way.
It was ten o'clock the following day when Andy decided to venture out in search of food for both of them.
"What the - Jinxx?!" Andy cried, falling over Jinxx who had been laying across the doorway. Andy picked himself up before helping Jinxx to do the same.
"I just wanted to see if you were okay...the tents colder without you..." Jinxx mumbled, avoiding any chance of Ashley hearing.
"Hey Jinxx," Ashley called, " have you been waiting here the whole time?" Jinxx merely shrugged, he avoided interaction with others even more than Andy. They began to walk to the canteen.
"Did you get any information out of that kid?" Andy asked, hoping that little specific information about their powers was known.
"Yeah, the information they have is that you are our leader, ", Andy chuckled when he heard this, he was more of an outcast than anyone else in the camp, " and that you can, I'm quoting him here, corrupt people's minds to the point of death with your sirenistic qualities."
"Do they know anything about you guys?" Andy asked, hopeful that his friends would remain safe.
"No, but they think that I've got some kind of connection in skill to you because they told them that I left when you did." Jinxx replied, the worry he felt just noticeable.
"Stay by my side, okay?" Andy said, hopping over the wall separating him from the food.
"I wouldn't have it any other way." Jinxx replied, kissing Andy on the cheek after checking for potential witnesses. Andy pocketed a couple of bags of crisps and a bottle of whiskey, leaping back over the divider before grinning at Jinxx.
"What? Did I do something wrong?" Jinxx asked, blushing in embarrassment.
"No, you did it perfect," Andy whispered into Jinxx's ear, stroking his hair, " in fact, I'd call it boyfriend material work." Jinxx turned bright pink before fainting from giddiness. Andy just laughed and picked him up the way he had been and carried him into the blacksmiths, earning a raised eyebrow from Ashley.
" I think I've figured out who you're getting laid with." He sniggered, sending up heart shaped embers between Andy and Jinxx. Andy hit him on the back of his head, causing him to nearly spill the molten metal he was holding.
"Just saying..."
"Shut up. At least it's the same person each time." Andy replied, glad to have something on a higher moral ground than Ashley.
"Touchée. I am however the Deviant, it comes with the job." Andy rolled his eyes at that statement, nothing could possibly excuse the amount of sex Ashley had, " Also, I'm pretty sure that as the Prophet you're supposed to set a good example to others. Being a virgin, abstaining from alcohol, not swearing...you know?"
"Yeah, well fuck that shit." Andy replied, opening the whiskey with his teeth, " there was no small print that said anything about any of that. Besides, I'll be damned if I'm going to let someone else tell me how to live my fucking life. Andy took a long gulp before passing it to Ashley who did the same. Jinxx had watched and was terrified for all of their lives when they returned to their work. Andy began to him with contentment. He wasn't going to let the Black Veil Bride down.
He was a fallen angel after all.
