Chapter Seven: Loss and Faith

Annie had tears rolling down her soft cheeks as she sobbed into her hands. Her friends moved around her, trying to comfort her or ask her if she was fine. They, however, remained untold.

"What is wrong, Annie?" Mamo asked, kneeling beside Annie and gently hugging her shoulder. Ying and Poong did the same, frowning. "Did we do anything to upset you?" Poong whispered quietly, as if feeling guilty. "I'm sorry I nearly flattened you into a pancake." She added.

"No," Annie began, finally wiping at her cheeks and sitting up properly on the grass. "It's not you guys." They looked at each other, "I'm sorry to create such a fuss on your first day back, guys." Annie murmured, sniffing into a tissue. "It's family." 

Mamo patted Annie's back gently, giving her a warm smile. Ying tried to better Annie's mood, and that worked greatly; Annie's mood had truly enhanced soon. Poong ran off to get chocolate for Annie. It was as though
