Pain.

"I-it hurts..." The small boy whispered with the blood gurgling inside his mouth.

Ethan lightly squeezed the minor's hand, waiting for it all to be over. The boy closed his eyes, whispering silent last words. "I love my brother... would you tell him that?" He croaked, breathlessly getting the words out of his mouth.

"Yes. Anything."

It was the breathtaking dawn that persuaded him to go to school.

Beautiful ethereal snow carpeted the streets of Sapporo. Every branch held on to many glistening snowflakes. Japanese citizens walked in the narrow streets, filled with many students filing out of buses, or walking , or exiting nearby train stations. On footpaths, people stood, chattering. 'Atsuko, wear this scarf around your neck, sweetie. You'll get a  cold." A mother planted a warm scarf on her daughter, who gave a toothy grin and held her mother's hand, walking hand in hand to their car. "Atsuko, papa and brother are waiting at home with your birthday cake! Quick, click on your seatbelt. here," The small girl giggled sweetly, kissing her mama on the cheek.

The sky was embraced with chilly, spraying mist.

Many footsteps thudded through the thin snow roads and the people, either blowing into their gloved hands or pulling on yet another layer of clothing. One of the many feet of the people was Ethan Yuang's, a Japanese schoolboy. He had a cold stare. But inside he was warm as a cottage on a snowy day. His hands were curled inside the deep pockets of his slim coat. He lifted his turtleneck jumper to his chin, covering his mouth on remembering his mother's warning about the flu going around Harisuka High.
