"Hiccup, what was that?" I asked. Hiccup mounted toothless and looked at me. "Dragon hunters. We just got word about them today, how could they be here so soon??"

My eyes narrowed. "Everyone mount up! Open the doors to the arena so that dragon can either escape or fight with us. Hiccup, Eret and I will scout the ships and see who is behind this. Snotlout, Astrid, ruff and tuff, protect the island, and Fishlegs-"

"Protect the egg?" He guessed. I smiled with a nod before taking off into the sky, adjusting my mask.

Hiccup's POV
I smiled while y/n gave the instructions. She was so quick and independent. I agreed with everything she was saying, so I didn't argue with her. She takes off quickly I go the sky, and I follow her with toothless who had appeared when the horns began to blow.

I've taken to the sky and y/n and Eret were already talking urgently to each other. They noticed I had joined them then took off. We looked at the ships below, there were a lot of them. Many of which had captive dragons on the ships and dragons being used as weapons. We made the plan to rescue the caged dragons and have y/n being them to our side. We would all attack different ships until the people on them and weapons were destroyed. After that, y/n would go through and free them, talk to them, and they would fly off. Sapphire was down on the ship with her at all times. I was still worried about her so I never flew too far away.

She was successfully freeing all the dragons and they would end up fighting for us and helping to sink the other ships. It seemed as she didn't need my help so I continued to attack the ships. I heard my name being called behind me and Astrid flew up beside me. "We need help defending the village! We need one of the nightfuries down there." I nodded to her. "Y/n and Eret are freeing trapped dragons, go help!" I instructed before speeding off into the village.

Toothless and I took off into the town, releasing nets off of our trapped dragons, firing at the dragon hunters. At some points we had to put out fires started on the cabins. The battle seemed long and strenuous. How long had we been fighting for? It seemed like hours. The ships kept coming in and we had to keep fighting on our own. What I couldn't give for my dad's advice right now.

My mom soars overhead on cloudjumper, the magnificent dragon flapped it's wings overhead and let out a roar, many zipplebacks, nightmares, and natters followed her. She took down ten hunters as I cheered her on.

I hear screeches from behind me as Eret and skullcrusher appear behind me. "Y/n found the people behind this!"

"Where is she?" I demand.
"Facing off with him, on one of the ships."

I hardly let Eret finish his sentence as his voice drifted off into the distance. Toothless and I raced between sails and fires from other ships.
"Come one, where are you, where are you." I mutter to myself. I spot sapphire on one ship and dive down towards it. She is fighting off many hunters and almost getting cornered.
"Blast then bud!" I command to toothless. The blast from above sends the hunters flying. Sapphire looked up in our direction, and then frantically flys up. She roars and whines to us, gesturing with her head towards the back of the ships. I look closer and see the familiar double ended axe that was lit ablaze.
"Keep freeing dragons!! I'll get her!"

Sapphire whines but does as she is told. I fly quickly towards the ship and float behind the sail. They've got the Mimicwing in a trap. The dragon is struggling to break free. Using every trick it has learned from other dragons but the dragon proof metal is defeating it.

Y/n is fighting with a man twice her size. Thick bodied and covered in scars. He had no beard but very long, red hair taken back in multiple dreads. They're yelling at each other. I can't tell what they're saying but they're definitely yelling.

The man fought with a sword and y/n fought with her axe, deflecting his every move on her. She finally knocked the large man to the ground, his sword was sent flying and he laid on the ground. She pointed the axe to his throat and yelled. Then rose her axe into the air.

"Y/n no!" I screamed, toothless firing a plasma blast and her axe flying out of her hand. She turned to face me. Her eyes were f/c and her arm glowed radiantly the same color. "Why would you do that! It's the only way to end this Hiccup Haddock!"

I had never heard her use that kind of tone before. Ever, especially towards me. Toothless and I flew down to her. Toothless stood above the man, making sure he didn't move while I went to y/n. Everything about her showed rage and anger. "How could you not want to kill someone who does this!" She yelled at me, gesturing to the Mimicwing in a cage.

She retrieved her axe and pointed it at the man. "Toothless, move." She commanded. Toothless growled at her, staying in battle stance. Sapphire lands in front of her and growls at toothless. They stand in a faceoff, looking ready to attack each other at either of our words.

While watching the dragons I hadn't noticed that y/n had unlocked the Mimicwings cage and the man under toothless had escaped.

Y/n was in the sky fast on top of the dragon. Sapphire looked up at her and then the man who was now at a catapult. He laughed maniacally before sending a net after y/n. I yelled for her to watch out, but sapphire was faster. She caught herself in the net and went down with a wail. I hopped on toothless and flew after her quickly. By the time I got there, y/n was getting off of the Mimicwing and running towards her dragon. She released sapphire from the net.

"Is she alright?" I asked, running up towards her. Y/n threw a dagger at my foot, steaking it I it to the ground, bringing up memories of when I first met her.
"You!!" She screamed. "This wouldn't have happened if you hadn't just let me kill that man!"

I brought my hands up to her. "Y/n, you're not thinking straight-"

"Shut up! My dragon could have been killed because of you! This could be over if you hadn't have interfered!" She pulled a dagger out of her waistband and threw it at me. Everything seemed to move in slow motion. The dagger came at me fast. Very fast. Toothless sailed behind me, then sudden force hit my shoulders and I was knocked to the ground. A scream of pain came from above me. I look up and see Eret, a dagger in his shoulder. He clutches it and falls to the ground.

I look over at y/n. She seems to have realized what she has done. She stands there, her Normal eye color has returned and the tattoo a faded black once again. "No." She mumbles to herself. Her eyes grow wet with tears. She grabs sapphires saddle and jumps on.

"Y/n wait!" I call after her. But it's too late. She's gone. Disappeared into the clouds.
The ships have retreated, and the village set quietly. People in the village gathered around to see what happened. The Mimicwing slowly walked over to me, clicking and cooing. I rested my hand on its head before slowly getting up. Many people had gathered to take Eret to Gothi.

All I could think about was y/n, and how she was gone. Just gone.
