Hiccups narration
A year had passed since y/n went missing. We couldn't find any trace of her anywhere. It's like she disappeared off the map completely. We looked for her in old lands as well as going to the lengths of discovering new ones to find her, but all seemed hopeless.

For the first week I couldn't sleep. Every day and night I went searching for her in all corners of the archipelago. Sapphire wasn't even around to witness her eggs hatching. Toothless had to take care of their beautiful little babies. Two boys and a girl. The girl I had named her Ember. She had piercing yellow eyes, which we don't know what that came from, and a mixture of deep purple almost black scales running from the top of her nose to the end of her tail. The rest was black.
The two little boys looked exactly like toothless, but one had purple eyes like sapphire. The one with purple eyes I had named trouble, because that's all that he was. Trouble.
Finally, we come to the baby that is the spitting image of toothless. I had a hard time coming up with a name for him, I'm sure y/n would have named all of them within 3 seconds, but I settled with Stoic. After my father.

Berk has changed a lot since then. We've evolved more and more. New dragons have been discovered, Berk has many new huts of all kinds of colors. The small island was now completely crowded. I thought about moving everyone to a new island, but this place had been through 4 generations of Vikings and I would hate to end that now. Berk is just too small for the kind expansion that we're encountering.

Eret had survived the knife to the shoulder. We practically had to restrain him from joining me on my voyages of finding y/n. He was afraid a successor of Drago would recognize her or people he has mentioned her to would take her.  Eret has been a wreck. As have I.

I get up from my spot at the end of my bed and walk over to the table. I pick up a drawing. The drawing y/n drew of sapphire and toothless. I sigh and sit back on the bed, the drawing in my hands. I thought for a moment, then walked down the stairs where toothless and his three babies slept. I sat down at the table and began to draw, adding the three sleeping babies to the picture. It would have been the exact same if sapphire had just been there. It stung my heart to have her not be here. Tears pricked my eyes and I let a couple fall.

A knock came from the door. I quickly wiped the tears away from my face and sniffled my nose. "Come in." I said with a strong voice, hiding my pain. My mom walked in the room. I relaxed and rested my head in my hands.

"Oh Hiccup." She sympathized. She walked over to me and sat next to me. She wrapped an arm around my shoulder and pulled me closer. "How could I be so stupid?" I hissed, hitting the table with my fist. All the dragons lifted their heads and looked in our direction. The babies got excited at the sight of my mom but toothless growled at them to stay put and they did as they were told. Toothless came over to me and cooed softly. He nuzzled my hand and I hugged his head.

"Hiccup you did nothing wrong. It's neither of your faults. And you know that." She comforted me.

"What if there is somewhere we haven't looked yet. Or maybe she's on one of the islands where we already looked." Dark thoughts circled my head. "What if she's dead. Or someone has her again."

Valka sighed. "Hiccup I must warn you, word in the village is, people are glad she's gone. They said she was too dangerous. Most of the village has forgotten about her."
The words left a sting in my chest. How could people have just forgotten about her? I guess she wasn't as much of an impact on their lives as she was mine.
"It's just not fair Mom. I miss her. I want her to come back but we have no idea where she's gone."

"Aye, Hiccup. I know what you mean." She rubbed my back. "We will find her, wherever she may be."

I agreed with a simple nod. I just hope that when I find her, it's not in Valhalla.

Third person POV

Sapphire flew through the air soundlessly and urgently. She flew right over the top of Berk, looking for a specific house, and she found it. She stealthily flew through the window and landed on the ground with a soft thud.

Toothless' head shot up and he looked around, seeing a figure in the moonlit window. He started to growl, putting his wing over the top of his babies. Sapphire cooed at him, walking closer. Her silhouette became more visible as she came into the light of the torch. Toothless cocked his head to the side then got excited. He went to chirp at her but sapphire whacked him on the head before he could. She signaled for him to fly out the window and he nodded. Sapphire jumped from the window and off into the night sky.

Toothless signaled for the babies to follow him. He gracefully jumped out the window followed by two of his little ones. Stoic on the other hand, made quite a bit of racket. He jumped up on the table only to fall right off and knock the whole thing over.

Hiccup woke up with a start, his eyes landing on the baby night fury.
"Stoic?" Hiccup asked the baby. "What are you doing. Where is everyone?"

Stoic chirped and then flew out the window.
"Wait!" Hiccup called after the baby. He ran downstairs and out the front door. He barley caught sight of the dragon running off into the forest. Hiccup ran as fast as he could to catch up. Where could they be going? He jumped over brush and ducked under tree branches before he reached, a familiar spot of the island.
The spot where he first found toothless.

Hiccup looked into the cavern. By the water he saw toothless, the baby dragons, and sapphire??
"She must've came back to see her babies." Hiccup wondered aloud. He smiled and laughed as the dragons played. Sapphire seemed so happy as she played with her babies, and they babies seemed to know exactly who she was.
"That's incredible."

"I knew you would be here!"
