The Kingston Brothers - Two for Me (Completed)

The Showdown.

We were all lying sated in a pile on the bed when the phone rang, there was no premonition that things were about to get difficult for all of us.  Xav had groaned when Theo had poked him to make him get up to answer and grumbled as he picked up the receiver.

"Hello?" the atmosphere in the room changed as Xav straightened and growled down the phone "You want what!".  he turned and looked back at us wither, his finger coming up to his lips as he put the phone on speaker.  "You heard me very clearly Mr Kingston, I want my niece back" Aunt Miriams voice came over the line.  "She's not here" Xav lied looking at me and gesturing with his hand to Theo, who looked confused at what he was asking him to do "record it" I whispered and he pulled out his mobile phone and started recording, nodding at Xav.

"I know you are lying to me, I know she is with you and your brother at your home, you took her from my man yesterday, now stop playing games, what do you want to return her to me, money?, is that what you're after? tell me how much, I'll give you a million if she's delivered to me before the end of the day?"  My mouth fell open and Xav laughed down the phone "I've already told you she's not here". "Two million" she offered ignoring his words.  "Why would you pay that much money, what's going on?" Xav prodded 

"Nothing that concerns you Mr Kingston, its a private family matter" she pauses and we wait "its just she is all I have left of my dear brother, Alfreda is dear to me and I am worried she may be hurt or taken advantage of, I just want her safe" she said sweetly.  Theo mimed being sick and Xav shook his head as I slid off the bed and grabbed a notebook and pen from the desk, writing quickly before turning the pad his way. "Look, she's not here, we helped her get away, and she's borrowing a friends place in Sussex, she's going to be down there till after her birthday" he repeated.

"Where is she" she screeched, "Tell me where she is and I'll get someone to collect her, or accept my offer two million if you deliver her to me, I'll give you till the end of tomorrow but no more"

'Say Yes" I wrote quickly 'but make her come here for 4pm', Xav shook his head but I nodded at him 'I have a plan' I wrote showing him.

"Two million but you come here to get her, she'll come here but will know if we try to return her to you, we can be back here for 4pm, she won't know you're coming" he growled unhappy about what I had asked him to say.

"I knew you'd see sense in the end Mr Kingston, I will see you tomorrow at 4 and if you even think of crossing me, just remember I can do a lot of harm to both you and your family." she rang off not waiting for an answer from him.

"Talk" Xav growled turning to face me.

"Yesterday I found some information when digging, when I did some cross referencing I found the board has been looking for ways to get rid of Aunt Miriam, there are concerns about misuse of funds and bulling tactics which have been used to push things through, I know who is fighting her, lets help them catch her, we have till 4 tomorrow to get everyone we need on board and rig a room to record what she does" I told him, my gaze switching between them.

"Please trust me, the evidence is there, I can pull it all together but to avoid any wiggle room, I need her to try to take me or to force me to sign the papers and that we need recorded, you're right, she's not going to give up, two million is a huge amount of money to throw around so casually, and if we don't play her, she may send someone who doesn't care"

I could see the realisation of my words on their faces "I don't want to leave you, so I need to stop her once and for all" I wait for them to respond, my heart screaming for them to agree.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck" Theo swore running his hands through his hair, "she's right, it could work" he said looking at Xav.

"Xav please" I held out my hand to him.
