Chapter 3

Percy POV:

There is no explanation for what just happened, but here it goes. The morning started like any other, we woke up, took inventory, ate a breakfast of stale donuts from the dumpster behind Monster Donut, and started running for our lives. This had been the routine ever since we ran away from camp. It was after we ran into the hellhounds that things got interesting.

We tried to fend them off but, even with Nico helping, we were outnumbered. I should explain. Nico was out on a quest when we were driven out of camp. When he came back to find us gone, he freaked out and came to find us. That was three weeks ago. He's been with us ever since.

Back to earlier. Just when we had given up and accepted our end, a bright light flashed and the hellhounds were gone. In their place, stood a man with wings that looked like the whole universe was contained in the feathers.

He introduced himself as Chaos and asked us to join his army. We would get to help the universe by getting rid of bad rulers and ending wars. In return, he would help us disown the fathers who abandoned us, adopt us, and bring some of our old friends back to join the army. It was almost too good to be true, but it was not a joke or a prank. Long story short, we joined the Chaos army and he led us to the portal.

And that brings us to today. The day my perfect new life came crashing down. We had been doing missions for Dad (Chaos) for five thousand chaos years (five hundred earth years) when I got called down to dad's office. The rest of the army was already there. We all looked expectantly at Chaos waiting for him to tell us what the new mission was.

He looked a little guilty and I soon knew why. "Youhavetogoback-toearthandhelpthegodsanddemigodswinthenewwar." He said it really fast so I didn't catch what he was saying for a couple of seconds. When it finally sank in, we all started yelling at him. Let me explain. All of the army members knew about what the campers did to me and they were mad. But that's not the whole reason. You see, my army was made up of the friends that I had lost in the wars. The full list of names and code names is:

Bianca Di Angelo - Angelic

Charles Beckendorf - Forge

Ethan Nakamura - Revenge

Jason Grace - Sky

Luke Castellan - Hero

Nico Di Angelo - Ghost

Percy Jackson (me) - Hurricane or Omega

Silena Beauregard - Charm

Thalia Grace - Arrow

Zoe Nightshade - Lunar

So we were all pretty ticked off at having to go back to Camp Half-Hell. That is what the army calls Camp Half-Blood. But Chaos made a good point. We could go, save the world again, and make their lives miserable. He also said that if at any point it got too hard, we could make a portal back to the Chaos Planet.

And that is the reason why we are all donning capes and masks that are enchanted so that only you can take them off and getting ready to go save Camp Half-Hell. Again.
