"What happened?", Hunter said, sitting up from the bed.

"Rogues enter our territory. 5 of them to be exact"

"What?", I said, itching to go with them.

"Come on, Hunter. We have to go take care of this", he said, motioning towards the door.

I stood up and Hunter dragged me back onto the bed.

"No. I know you were a warrior but no", he said.

I looked at him big puppy dog eyes. Winter hadn't fought in a while and I wanted him to see my wolf.

"Please. I know how to handle myself", I pleaded.

He shook his head and kissed the side of mine. He left me without another word. I stepped out on the balcony and watched as pack warriors ran off into the woods. Winter whimpered and tried taking control. I knew that I would piss him off by leaving. But she needed to get out.

I let her take control and smiled. I liked it when she was in control because she had the confidence I wanted. She grabbed an extra set of clothes and headed out the door. We took the stairs to save a little extra time, running down them. No one was on the ground floor. Most hid in their homes.

I ran outside and turned into my bright white wolf. Afterward, Winter used her sense of smell to find Hunter. Once we found him, he looked at me in awe. He was still in his human form and didn't realize it was me.

The five rogues were being defeated by their warriors and Hunter only had gym shorts on. They smelled like they could use a shower. Hunter walked up to me and petted my white fur and I melted into his hand.

"Winter?", he said, his wolf in control. I nodded.

He stopped in front of my face and kissed the top of my head. Hunter left somewhere and returned as his black, much bigger, wolf.

You shouldn't be here, he mind linked me.

I'm aware, but I need to show you I can take care of myself.

He was much bigger than me and towered over me.

Go. Now. I know you can take care of yourself but I need you safe. Go home. Now, Hunter continued the conversation.

I turned my head back towards the fight, but they had ended it. 3 boys stood, naked, with their hands tied behind their backs. 2 laid dead.

Hunter shot daggers at me for distracting him. I wolf-smiled at him and went behind a tree to shift. Once I put my cropped sweatshirt and my leggings on, I walked out from behind the tree to see Hunter giving orders to the guard. They started hauling the three boys off while I approached him.

Hunter was pissed at me. He picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. He slapped my ass and started walking to the packhouse.

"What?", I asked, poking his shoulder.

"I told you to stay inside", he said, growling.

I struggled to get out his hold. I punched his back and kicked my legs. Nothing was working but I knew where I would end up. I would be chained to his bed for the next week because I left without permission.

I've pissed him off so much and I know he still loves me but I still felt bad. I disobeyed him.

I felt his wolf in control. He wasn't even trying to get his control back. Hunter just let him do what he wanted with me. Hunter walked, with me still over his shoulder, to the elevators and back to our room.

Hunter threw me onto his bed and chained me up to the bed, again. I curled up into a ball and let myself take whatever words he was giving me. He leaned over me and Isaac yelled at me.

"What the hell were you thinking?!? I told you to stay up here!", Isaac said, gritting through his teeth.

"You're lucky I don't throw you in the dungeon with the rest of the disobedient wolves that-"

"Out. Now", the door opened and a woman stormed into the room.

Hunter bowed his head in silence and walked out of the room, slamming the door. The woman looked at the door and back me. She was beautiful and looked almost exactly like Hunter. This must've been his mother.

She knelt beside me on the side of the bed. She saw that I was still sobbing and calmed me down. She grabbed my hand and closed her eyes.

"I can feel your wolf is strong-willed", she said, smiling, "and stubborn."

I giggled, knowing she was right. Winter would never say no to a fight, especially one with rogues. She loved hurting rogues. It was her favorite kind of fight.

The woman stretched out her hand, "My name is Michelle. You can call me mom if you like."

I shook my head and felt my eyes water. No way could I just replace the woman that I used to know.

Michelle stood, "Well, I'm going to talk with him. He really should take it easier on you. You look really young. Can I get you anything?"

I perked up, "Actually, yes." She cocked her head to the side. "My dog. He's outside. If you just say my name, he will come to you. Can you please bring him back to me?"

She nodded, smiled, and left the room. I listened as they fought directly outside the room. She brought Hunter in by his ear, screaming at her to let him go. She threw him in front of me and told him to apologize, which he did. Then, she left the room.

He mumbled curse words under his breath and told me he wouldn't do this to me again.

"It'll take more than an apology to have me forgive you", I said, feeling proud that I had him wrapped around my finger. Hunter smirked and pounced on top of me.

I held him up with my free arm so that his weight wouldn't crush me. He gave me butterfly kisses all over my face, finally gave me an actual kiss. His mom, finally, walked back into the room, with Axe.
