The ground crumbles beneath your feet
The eyes cave inwards while the heart beat halts
Your clothing is torn as you stampede to flee
The fear mounts, the taste is vile upon your tongue
As terror takes hold, another sword falls
The darkness cannot hold back the flame
As his fury explodes your every thought
And as you run, no sound escapes your lips
The eyes seek only shelter
From the mindless hell his hand has flayed
For when war strikes the heart
The Mind knows no silence.
Only the echo of each passing hour
And shrapnel is all that remains of a game
You did not ask to play
