If she gave the petals a message
And the petals told the wind
Would you hear the whisper? If she breathed her intentions to the breeze
And the breeze told the bough that takes your rest
Would you know it for what it was?If the wind broke the bough
To shatter the dream to raise reality once more
Would you know the loss?If the wind knows nothing of itself
Even it's frailty that barely holds the crane aloft
Would you know the reason for its presence? The wind must come from somewhere when it blows
And surely there are reasons why they move now
But she cannot tell you, for they do not speak to herBut if they said her heart blows a tune
Of which no man knew but you
Would you fear to sing it, lest it takes your own?And if the tune carried no pain
Only silence in sacred healing
Would you know to dance its breathless song?Ahhh but the wind is a fickle thing
It can change its beat at any given moment
Would you know to where it flows? And if the flow changed the thunder to a rolling breeze
And the lightening to a whistling sigh
Would you still know the score?Even now it carries the lyrics of a final debt owed
Within a heart to you she bestowed
But would you know where to find it?Because her message is very simple
It lays scattered among the petals
Whispering "I love you."But this, you already know.
