Year 1909
Alex POV
Over the past year...
Mr Armstrong taught me how to fight. I wasn't as strong as him, but I could now hold my own against him for a little while. I was growing much better for becoming a 10-year-old soon. And everyone was supered proud of me.
Fuhrer King Bradley, kept me around as mini advisor saying I was smart and teaching me the ways of the military, whenever he was in town.
Jean Havoc taught me guns and how to clean them. Dad said it was all in the name of teaching me how to protect myself in the future.
Riza taught me how to shoot a gun and I found out I was a little pro at it. She smiled and every time I would hit a bulls-eye she would pick me up and cheer. I would always be a giggling mess as she paraded me around Eastern Command.
The one thing I loved the most was when dad taught me more about alchemy. He said I was a prodigy at alchemy. He was really hesitant though to say that, he never wanted me to end up as a dog of the military like him, but said he would support me should I ever make the choice to do so.
Like was amazing! My tenth birthday passed on a very special day and I smiled at just the memory of it. Dad had gotten Luna a little dress and after my small party, dad and Riza became the first people in the military to get married!
I smiled at the memory of it as I got ready for bed.
I was dressed in a little purple dress with a flower crown of light pink resting just above my brows. The flowers were carnations and Gracia, Mr Hughes' girlfriend, said they meant a woman or mothers love. It made sense, I loved Riza like a mom and she was becoming my mom and she loved my dad too!
I was giving Riza away today. Both had insisted that I be part of the wedding. It was Riza who asked me to give her to my dad. Of course, I accepted, this was the best day of my life!!! I just had no idea what the significance of it was and I was nearly too hyper at the moment to ask.
Riza looked amazing in her dress. Usually, she never wore dresses, she said they made her feel girly and week, but I kept telling her, she looked tough and beautiful in her dress. I was so excited. I was dancing around the room until I finally grabbed her hand. "It's time, are you excited?" She said through a smile and squeezed my hand. I nodded happily.
"I feel like you are more excited than I am about my wedding day," she said with a laugh and I became serious. "Of course I am. I was the one who figured out you loved each other long before you admitted it. I was the one who made this wedding posble. It's my birthday." I said while trying to act serious and that only made her laugh more.
She nodded and we were on our way down the red-carpeted aisle. Dad stood at the front, proudly in his uniform, Mr Hughes at his side and Gracia at the other, where Riza would be standing.
I gave dad Riza's hand and smiled. "I spent a lot of hard work getting you two to this point, don't let me down." I was pretty sure I said this loud enough for the whole front row to hear because they began to laugh. I just smiled and began to walk away.
