Wednesday morning ( again ).

Dan rushed out of her house with whatever she had in her purse. Diego had been calling her all morning. As soon as the interview was finished, she was rushing on her feet. The Academy, as she had learned recently, was not far. Especially if one skipped one step or two every few seconds, wishing to reach the place soon.

However, her path was cut short by the crowd in the police station. Dan had her mind in the clouds, worrying about the Hargreeves, when a person appeared in her path. She walked straight towards them, almost sending them to the ground. Her hand grabbed their bicep, keeping them steady. "I'm sorry, I didn't─" She looked up to meet a familiar face. "Allison?"

"Dan?" The two women pulled into a confused hug, stepping away from the sidewalk. Dan pulled away first, fixing her clothes that took far too long to groom. "Where the hell have you been all morning?"

She scratched her head, wondering if going into details was necessary. It was supposed to be a surprise, after all, so she simplified it into one word. "Working." Too secretive. She changed the subject, leading her away far from her rudeness. "What's going on? Where's everyone else?"

Allison pointed towards the station, "Diego's inside. And Five's─"

The boy appeared beside them as though he had been summoned ( which, theoretically, they had ). His sister cursed him under her breath, clutching her chest. "I'm right here."

Dan immediately turned into that fake persona from a few days back. Both her hands rested on her hips as she looked down at the boy. He had disappeared in the middle of a crisis. "Where the hell did you go? Last time I saw you we were running those freaks over. I thought we left you behind for a moment."

Five eyed her up and down before offering his infamous mischievous grin. "Working."

She rolled her eyes at his answer. Of course, if she kept a secret from them, he took the opportunity to do the same. Her mind came up with a retort but before she had a chance to say it, a fourth person joined them. Diego smiled at his friend, barely acknowledging her presence. He took a folder from under his jacket, passing it to Allison.

They circled the woman, attempting to have a quick look as she skipped through the pages. Allison suddenly stopped to read, gasping at the new information only she could read. Dan stood on her tiptoes, catching a picture of a man whose face was unfamiliar. "Holy shit. Harold Jenkins is Leonard Peabody."

The two brothers looked at the file and sighed, recognizing the man in the picture. Dan was still missing some information. Who was this man? What made him so important? And why did they look for him? She should've pushed the interview for another day. "Who?"
