I doubt you would believe me if I told you that my only intention of writing these letters was to make our world a more connected place, but the truth is just that. Ashley Benson, my best friend, did not like the idea. Although, I'm getting ahead of myself, so let start from the beginning.
"You want to do what?"
"I want to right letters to society." I calmly explained to Ashley, who couldn't quite grasp the concept.
"Why don't you just send an email or something? Word would spread a lot faster, don't you think?"
Ashley was great, and I love her to death, but boy could she be a ditz sometimes.
"Ash, that's the point! I want to tell them things through letters because I feel that's one of the problems we have in our world."
She sank back into her lime green bean bag chair and rolled her eyes.
"I just don't get it. Why do you care so much?"she said exasperatingly.
"Look Ashley, you don't have to help me, I just told you the idea. Take it or leave it, cause' I'm doing it."
With a sigh of defeat, she turns on the television and says," I don't know how much help I'll be, but if you feel this strongly about it, I'll be more than happy to help."
Smiling, partly because I'm glad she's helping but mostly because I won the debate, I thank her and pack up my things.
"See ya at school tomorrow, first day of senior year." Ashley says happily.
I roll my eyes and walk out the door, remembering the first day is tomorrow. I slide my keys into the ignition and back out of the driveway, dreading the next day to come.
