After I explained the letter to Eli and about all the other boring stuff happening in my life, the only thing he was focused on was helping to write it.

"Oh please please please! You know I'll do a good job! Please let me help you!" He begged.

I couldn't very well say no considering how adorable his pouting wa- Woah. Where did that come from? Stop it brain don't do that to me. This is Eli we are talking about. Quirky, goofy, hilarious Eli, that was my friend, nothing more.

"Okay Eli you can help, but you have to give me your letter in two days or no deal. Also, if I don't like it I'm rewriting it. Deal?" I asked.

He groaned and rolled his eyes, then said," Unfair, but yes it's a deal."

We continued to talk about his trip and all the places he saw. When Eli began to rant about some French guy who upset him at a restaurant I zoned out and began to look at the charms on the bracelet he gave me. Finally, he stood up and stretched, signaling he was about to leave. I stood up as well and we hugged them said our goodbyes.

"See you at school tomorrow, dork." I said with a grin on my face.

He laughed then said,"Takes a dork to know a dork."

I smiled and shook my head as he climbed into his truck and drove off. I walked back inside and started the first of many homework assignments, but found myself thinking about Eli more than anything else. I really need some sleep, because I am not in the right state of mind. I shut my books and laid down, eventually drifting of to sleep.

"Sam! Sam get up!" some one yelled.

I got up and groaned as I realized it was my mom telling me to wake up for school.

"When I came in last night around dinner you were already asleep so I didn't wake you. Go get ready, then come get breakfast before you go." She said.

I shuffled to my room, picked out my favorite sweatpants and my UVA hoodie I stole from my mom forever ago, then went to the bathroom to get changed. I slipped on the clothes, brushed my tangled mess of hair, and brushed my teeth in all of about five minutes. Today was obviously going to be an "I don't really care what I look like day", because I had an awful headache and my body felt achy all over. With my luck I was coming down with the flu. I went to the kitchen and ate what I could keep down of the breakfast my mom made me, then grabbed my keys and backpack and headed out the door.

"Bye doodlebug have a great day!" My mom yelled from the laundry room.

Sighing to myself I yelled back," Bye mom, thank you."

I slid into the driver side door, backed out of the driveway, and drove to school. When I pull into the parking lot I see none other than Eli and Ashley waiting for me by her car.

"Don't you know what time it is?" Ashley said, exasperated.

I rolled my eyes and said," Don't you know I don't care?"

Eli laughed and said,"Well somebody is in a great mood, and don't you just look beautiful today."

I flicked him off and started to walk into school with Ashley, but I couldn't shake the butterflies in my stomach after he said beautiful. What is happening to me?
