"SAM!"
"What in the world?" I say as I turn around to face a scattered looking Ashley.
"Sam you're going to be late for your first class! Hurry!" she exclaimed rather aggressively.
"Ash, the bell doesn't ring for fifteen more minutes, I think I can get there on time." Ashley has a tendency to be a little.. well, annoying when it comes to school.
"Well I'm going to class and you should too!" she says with her back to me while she stalks off, obviously frustrated I didn't take her advice. I sigh and lock my car, turning to walk to the hell hole we call high school. I had just turned the corner when someone crashes straight into me, and all our books go scattering across the ground.
"Oh! Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! Here, let me help you pick them up!" the stranger offers.
"No. I've got it." I said it rather rudely, and the person obviously noticed I was agitated. I picked up the rest of my books and looked up to see who the clumsy stranger was. A girl, no taller than five feet, with long brown hair and bright blue eyes looked back at me. Her face was bright red, and she looked ready to bolt in the opposite direction.
"I.. I'm really sorry," she says, stammering, "I was only trying to help."
Obviously, I felt like a total bitch, which is nothing unusual, but usually I act like one to people who deserve it. Clearly, this girl did not.
"That's okay. What's your name?" I said, making an attempt to appear nicer than I had been before.
"My.. It's Madison. Madison Mathews."
"Nice to meet you Madison, I'm Samantha, but you can call me Sam."
The five minute warning bell sounded, and both of us jumped.
"Well Madison, I'll see you soon hopefully, but try to refrain from running into people, it's not always the best way to meet new people."
She laughed, and at the moment I knew what my first letter to society would be about.
