Chapter 3

THOMAS POV: 

"Ya, that's right Chuck" said Alby. A boy banged a stick against a pan. "Sounds like quieting time" said Alby. He put his hand on Chuck's shoulder. "Chuck, take care of our newbie alright" said Alby pointing at me. Alby put his hand down. Something still feels wrong here. "Yes sir Alby" said Chuck. They shook hands and Alby started leaving. I adjusted the stuff I was holding. "You look like crap man" said Chuck. Gee, thanks. Not like any of us are models though. Chuck started leaving and signaled me to follow. "Come on" said Chuck. I adjusted the stuff I was holding and signed as I followed Chuck. We made it to the sleep area and Chuck started setting up the hammock. I just stood there and stared at the doors. What's out there? "It's basically the safest place for all of us. We wake up in the box, Alby gives us the tour and here we are" said Chuck as he set up the hammock. I can't take this anymore. It's not Chuck it's those stupid walls and that opening. I started walking up to it. Chuck ran up to me. 

"Dude where are you going" asked Chuck. "I just want to take a look" I said as we walked. "You can look around all you want but you better not go out there" said Chuck. "Why not, what's threw there" I asked. "I don't know" said Chuck as he stopped me. "I just know what I'm told. That I'm not suppose to leave" said Chuck. Chuck looked back at the opening and two boys came out. "Hey Chuck, new greenie. How does it feel to be promoted" asked one. "It feels great Ben" said Chuck with a thumbs up. The other boy looked like he was judging me. I admit we aren't the best looking but let's see what you first looked like when you came up. 

NEWT POV: 

Bloody perfect. Thomas is already causing trouble. So predictable. We all ran over there and had to calm Thomas down. "WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS" Thomas yelled."Calm down greenie" I said. "NO, NOT UNTIL YOU TELL ME WHAT IS OUT THERE" Thomas yelled. I frowned and walked up to Thomas. "Pray I never through you in there to find out" I said grabbing Thomas' hand. He tried to free himself. 

"NEWT LET GO OF ME" Thomas yelled as we walked. A sound from the maze came and we stopped walking. Thomas and I looked back. The wind came and some of the boys covered their faces. "What the heck" Thomas whispered. There was more sounds and the doors started closing. Thomas was completely shocked. I just stood there annoyed. The doors sealed shut. "Next time, I'm going to let you leave" said Gally. He left. "Welcome to the glade" said Alby. We all started leaving. I let go of Thomas' hand and he turned back to me. "Just don't shuck up again greenie" I said while leaving. "Sorry" said Thomas. "What" I asked turned back to Thomas. "I said sorry, I honestly wouldn't of caused that whole scene if I knew" said Thomas. I signed and crossed my arms. "Well now you know. My advice stay out of the way, don't bloody draw attention to yourself, and never do anything stupid" I said. I left and went to the house of the keepers till night fall. I went out to the party and mostly sat by myself. I stared at the maze walls as I ate. Some one was walking up to me. I looked back and saw Thomas.
