Chapter 13

THOMAS POV:

I froze and said nothing. "Okay, let's put her in the hospital till she wakes up" said Alby. Newt picked Teresa up and we put her in the hospital. All the gladers would look over at me every now and then. After Teresa was in the hospital they had a meeting with everyone. "Why would they send a girl" "Can I call dibs" "No way, the girl should decide" "What if the box stops coming up" boys asked. "EVERYONE CALM DOWN" Alby yelled. The room was silent. "NOW, I don't know what will happen but we just have to wait for the girl to wake up" said Alby. The halfings all looked at me. "Why would they send a girl" asked a boy. "Who cares, is she straight" asked a boy. Everyone looked at me. "I don't know, I can't remember her" I said angrily. I signed and left the council hall. Newt followed me. "Tommy calm down" said Newt. I ignored Newt and kept walking. Newt hugged me from behind and I stopped walking. "I'm just scared Newt. The whole half grievers and how I must become one and now Teresa is here" I said.

"You will be fine Tommy. I won't turn you till you are ready and Teresa will be okay" said Newt. I looked at the floor. "Newt, what if you were to turn me right now" I asked. "Are you sure, we have a few months" said Newt. I turned and hugged Newt. I closed my eyes. "I'm okay with it Newt. I'm just scared but can you please be gentle" I asked nervously. "I will, come on" said Newt. We walked to the house of the keepers and I carried Newt up the stairs. I laid us on his hammock.

NEWT POV:

I sat on top of Thomas and looked into his eyes. "Are you sure about this" I asked. Thomas nodded. "I trust you Newt. Besides Gally is only giving me week and he kinda scares me" said Thomas. "True, anyway try to relax Tommy" I said. Ben opened the door and we froze. We looked at Ben who was shocked. "Um, did I, walk in, on you two, about to, shuck" asked Ben nervously. "No, I was just about to turn Thomas half griever" I said. "Ooh thank God. I thought, never mind. Anyway carry on" said Ben.

"Wait, why are you here" asked Thomas. "They sent me to come check on you since you never came back and it's getting late. Is Thomas going to sleep here" asked Ben. Thomas and I looked at each other. We looked back at Ben. "Ya" I said. "Anyway, I'll let you be" said Ben. He closed the door and left. I looked back at Thomas. "I'm not gonna bloody lie Tommy. This will sting" I said. "I don't care" said Thomas. I grew my nails out and lifted Thomas' shirt. I stung his stomach and he groaned in pain. I cut my hand with my nails and rubbed it over the stung area. Thomas groaned and bit his lip. I finished and Thomas finally relaxed. He opened his eyes. "Its all over Tommy, just go to sleep" I said. "I can't, I'm too scared to close my eyes. What if it doesn't work or I never wake up" asked Thomas weakly. I put my hand on Thomas' cheek. "I promise you will be just fine Tommy" I said. I closed my eyes and kissed Thomas. Thomas held me and kissed back. We made out till Thomas fainted. I sat up and stared at Thomas as he slept. I smiled and covered him up.
