There. At Jeno's locker, Jeno and two other boys were laughing at something. One was blond haired and the other was indeed the black haired boy he had been looking for.

Jaemin felt betrayed. Out of all people, why was it Jeno who lied? 'I would tell you if I knew' my ass, Jaemin thought. He was clearly working against Jaemin, hell they looked like best friends. Maybe that was why he was having such a hard time. Suddenly he didn't feel so bad about how abruptly he left Jeno the Friday before.

The warning bell before school rang, and students began heading off to their first period class. Jaemin eyed Jeno one last time before turning his heel and going to his language class. He would see Jeno soon.

Jaemin entered the class, greeting the teacher with a 'good morning' and went to sit in the spot he always sat at. He placed his bag on the floor and pulled out his phone, scrolling a bit through social media.

"Heyy," Jaemin heard Jeno say softly as he slid into the seat next to his. "How was your weekend?"

"It was fine," Jaemin replied, not looking up from his phone. He could tell Jeno was waiting for him to elaborate and explain more like he usually did, but Jaemin remained silent.

Jeno sighed and sat back in his seat, not pressing further on the topic. As if on cue the bell rang for the second time and the class started.

"Jaemin," Jeno called after him as he rushed out of his seat. Jaemin walked faster, not looking back. He was followed by the sound of footsteps, and a hand grabbing his arm.

Instinctively, he gasped and twisted his arm out of Jeno's grasp, but he could still sense the feeling of someone's fingernails digging into his skin. Suddenly he stopped to take deep breaths, clutching his arm close to him. He squeezed his eyes shut, hit with a new wave of panic.

"Hey," Jeno repeated.

"HEY!"

Jaemin stood still. "Look at me," he said.

"LOOK HERE YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT!"

His breaths grew heavy, mind overflowing with the sound of a man shouting and body trembling with fear. Jaemin let out a shaky breath, not knowing anymore where he was but only wanting to disappear.

A moment later he felt arms wrap gently around his shoulders, and he curled even smaller in attempt to protect himself. A hand came up and he felt fingers running through his hair.

"I'm sorry." A voice mumbled into his neck. "Please calm down. Everything is okay," Jeno said soothingly. "It's all in your head."

Jeno waited for Jaemin's breathing to steady before letting go. Jaemin noticed Jeno keeping his distance, not wanting to cause anything else. They stared at each other awkwardly, not knowing how to react to the scene that just occured.

"I—" Jaemin started, but was cut off by the hall monitor that was lurking around.

"What are you two doing lingering in the halls? You should be in class," he said sternly.

Jeno spoke first. "I'm sorry for troubling you, we'll be on our way."

"Good. I hope to not catch you boys out here during class time any time soon."

Jeno gave Jaemin a concerned look, then turned to go to his next class, and Jaemin did the same.
