Silence stayed and all you could here was quiet muffled talking of Jeremy and Christine. But the calming peace was cut short when the entrance doors opened and popular kids walked in. Knowing we would have to go out there because of Mr. Reyes I groaned and pulled Cathy up with me.

"Mr. Reyes should start talking now that the kids are here so lets go on ahead."

When we walked out we started to here him halfway through his introduction

"-get to stage William Shakespeare's classic. "A Midsummer Night's Dream"

Christine, happy with the choice, let out a loud "YES".

"And today, that dream dies"

"What?"

"AND IS REBORN! Just slightly mutated. The school has informed me that, unless I increase our popularity, our funds will be diverted. To the Frisbee Golf Team. Which is why our production will be set, not in a pastoral forest, but a post-apocalyptic future. Instead of frolicking with fairies, there will be fleeing. From zombies."

"Don't you care about Shakespeare?"

"The man is dead. Let it go. We will now take a five-minute break so I can eat a Hot Pocket."

The Popular kids follow Mr.Reyes out of the room just as loud as they entered. The only one to stay back was the Jake copy.

*Or the real Jake. I still don't really know what's happening anymore*

He walks over to Christine, completely ignoring Jeremy. As they talked I looked over and saw my old group of...well I don't really know what you would call them. They aren't your friends but they're know you better than any acquaintance. I would talk to them, but they seem to have started to ignored me more. Trying to get themselves with the populars I guess. Either way I told Cathy that I would be back and walked over to them.

"Hey guys."

They did what they usually do. Not care that I existed.

*I don't even know why I try anymore. To see that maybe they would want me back? I mean you don't just ditch your best friend of 5 years for popularity. Then again I should think about the plot of what musical I'm in.*

Diana eventually saw me, quietly flipped me off, then went back to listening to Abby. While Ava, the nicer one of the three, gave me a look that said to go on back and try not to get yelled at. Despite these warnings, I stayed back.

"Abby"

She rolled her eyes and looked at me

"I'm in the middle of talking, can't you see that?"

"I was just wanting to know if were doing the movie thing this weekend."

"Ha, no. I have better things to do then watch shitty movies like Les Misérables."

"Yet, you still know how to pronounce it?"

She gave me a pissed off look. Well, more then her normal amount of it that is.

"Just take your ass back over to where you came from."

I rolled my eyes and began to walk back.

"W-wait, actually-"

I turned around to see Abby glaring at Ava.

*She must've been the one who spoke up. I surprised I didn't recognize her voice. Then again, it has been awhile*

"We're going to the mall after school. would you want to hang out then?"

I smiled."Sure, I'd love-"

"Ava, we are not letting her come with..."

She stopped herself and smiled.

"Actually, now that I think about it, we haven't hung out in awhile."

She fully turned towards me.

"5:30. Don't be late"

I looked at here surprised.

"I uh, alright."

"Kk. See you later"

With that, she flashed a smile, and turned back around.

I walked back to Cathy confused.

"So Abby invited, well told, me to go to the mall with her later"

"Really? I thought she was "too cool" for you"?

"I thought so too."

"She's probably gonna ditch you"

"Yea, I mean I might as well try. You wanna come with?"

"Of course, I'll have to ask my mom though. But, I imagine she'll be fine with it. You're my best friend after all"

"Y-yep. Only the closest" I say then let out an awkward laugh

She started to walk down the stage stairs. She turned around and flashed a cute smile.

"See you after play rehearsal"

"Yea, see you later"

And with that, she walked over to where everyone else went. I sighed

*Curse my gayness for straight people*

I sat down on the stairs.

*Not only can I lose my old best friends, but the one I have now just cause of some stupid crush. It'd be better if I had at least some other person there for me. No friends. No group. No partner. No family. Well, one who accepts me. Just some stupid loser who thinks she in some musical*

From the corner of my eye I saw Jeremy lean on the stage, obviously in a similar predicament. Minus the whole, being in a musical thought.

Once again there's been a take down
But I guess it could have gone worse
At least I didn't have a breakdown
Then have to go to the nurse
I don't wanna be special
Don't even need to survive
I just want to know that

Christine is                       People are

aware I'm alive
