A date!...kinda.

"It's good to see you again, Y/n"

As soon as the name left his mouth your chest felt tight, your head hurt and a flood of memories went through your mind. All of your old memories were resurfacing right up until after you passed your keyblade onto Sora, though in every single one of them, pieces were missing. You couldn't see the blond boy, the blue haired girl, or the brunet's faces clearly, or remember their names or voices.

You immediately began to collapse "woah there, you okay?" Zack asked as he helped steady you.

"Y-yeah..s-sorry..I just.." you looked up at him "I don't have all my memories..last thing I remember is going to destiny islands.." you thought for a second before realization hit you

"The blond boy, the brunet and the blue haired girl! Who are they?!?" You yelled beginning to freak out

"Hey! Y/n snap out of it!" Herc came over and shook you "hey! Look. You don't remember them for a reason. Maybe its for the best, maybe its why you're physically younger than before. Just try and take one thing at a time.."

You nodded slowly "right.." you exhaled and rubbed the back of your neck "man...now I've really got a headache.." you sighed before shaking your head "I need to focus on why I came here..I need to find my friends.." you said

Zack immediately seemed to deflate "Wait! You can't seriously go yet!"

You frowned and nodded, feeling guilty. "okay. I'll stay— for a bit." You added, but his face lit up nonetheless

"Great! Now..about that date..you're uh..a little..young.." he said awkwardly and you just stared at him

"So until you're back to your normal self, let me show you what a REAL date it like." He said with a goofy grin on his face

"I feel like thats still-" you began but he interrupted "Hey come on! Just two friends hanging out." He said before batting his eyelashes

You stifled a giggle before you nodded "okay, one kinda-date."

You and Zack had spent the day together, he told you about him and Herc becoming heroes, of Herc saw Sora and of his mini adventures into the underworld for when Hades would occasionally cause trouble.

By now, the sun had gone down, stars now filled the night sky...and it was just the two of you.

"Hey Zack?" You asked and he hummed in response. "How long has it been?" You asked and he seemed to tense up

"Ten years since two days ago." He said and you remained silent.

The silence took over for a few minutes as you watched the stars

"You know," he started in a calm tone, his eyes never leaving the sky
"I would spend every night and look at the stars...knowing that you were out there somewhere. It hurt that you were so close but so far from my reach. I never dreamed you were some child playing games on a beach." He said with a laugh and you cracked a smile

"I wish I knew how I got there. I remember almost everything...there's just big pieces missing.." you mumbled before placing a hand over your heart

"A decade and you come back just as weird as ever." He teased and you elbowed him in the side, making him cough and groan "Kidding..." he mumbled with a small smile

"Was Sora angry with me?" You asked and he shrugged "dont know, I was poking around the underworld when Sora came." You nodded and he sighed

"From the sound of it, he's just a dumb as you." Zack said with a yawn "hey! He's WAY more dumb!" You said in mock rage

"Not possible." He said with a bored shrug "Oh whatever."

There were so many stars in the sky. Each one shined a different way, all of them being unique.

"I hope you know that eventually I'll get that date. This doesn't count." He said and you looked over at him. He had a smile on his face, looking just as carefree as ever.

"Zack, I'm sorry—" he put a hand up to stop you

"I...I know you have to leave again. But for now? Let me pretend that you don't have to go. I know your friends need you, but right now I need you."

Your cheeks felt warm and you looked back to the sky. You made the quick decision to grab his hand. He tensed up at first, not expecting it before he relaxed and held onto your hand.

The two of you spent the next few hours just watching the stars. Soon you forced yourself to let go of his hand. He groaned and looked over to you, seeing you already on your feet, facing away from him.

"I'm sorry...my friends..they need me." You mumbled regretfully as he go to his feet.

"You really have to go, don't you?" He asked and you nodded.

"But you'll come back?" He asked and you turned to face him "of course! Though, hopefully I'll be back to normal next time." You said with a small smile and he grinned in return

"I'll be waiting." He said as you opened a portal. You took two steps forward before quickly turning on your heel, running into his chest

He seemed surprised before he wrapped his arms around you. "Hey! Y/n it's okay. We'll see each other again soon." He said with a smile, though his eyes held sadness. He was losing you, again.

"Y-Yeah." You wiped your eyes and smiled as you looked up at him. You jumped and kissed his cheek before sprinting through the portal. Things were definitely going to change. You had most of your memories back, and you didn't feel so lost anymore. Now, it was time to find your friends.
