Our Last Sunset

Okay so, ive been really needing the italics throughout this series and i have an iphone and its not working??(if you have a solution pls help) so, for memories or inner thoughts i will use bold text, and for my commentary, I'll use the underline option...sigh ok. Story timeee

"Y/—?" He asked once again. "Yeah?" "Do you...do you think we'll always be together like this?" The blond asked, not taking his eyes off the sky. "Sure." You nodded "I don't see why not."

You gasped for air and shot up. You coughed and tried to calm down, your heart racing and your body shaking. You looked around frantically as you heard someone calling your name "Woah Hisa, hey relax!" Riku said as he knelt down in front of you and grabbed your shoulders "hey!" He yelled and you stopped panicking and looked into his aquamarine eyes "you with me now?" He asked and you nodded slowly and he let go of your shoulder "You fell asleep...we're on the island." You sighed and nodded "S-Sorry.." you stuttered embarrassed "Bad dream?" He asked as he stood up and looked around "...No." You looked up at him to see him giving you a bewildered look "Most people don't wake up in full panic mode from a good dream." You shrugged and stood up "where's Kairi and Sora?" You asked as you stretched "Making the supplies list, and since you were slacking off, you have to help Sora get the supplies." He smirked and you groaned "what? Aww Riku come on!" You whined and he shook his head laughing "oh no, no, no. It was a unanimous vote." You scoffed and gently shoved him "Tag!" You yelled before running off "ah!- what? H-Hisa!" He sputtered as he sprinted after you

'Who was that boy? Who was he talking to..' You couldn't get the blond boy out of your head. You've been thinking about it all day— which also means you've been spacing out all day. "Hellooo!" Kairi waved a hand in front of your face to get your attention "geez Hisa, what's gotten into you?" She asked as she put her hands on her hips. Hisa; The name Sora and Riku gave to you suddenly felt wrong. "Uh..N-Nothing..sorry.." you awkwardly rubbed the back of your neck as she rolled her eyes "okay, well you need to find these things." She handed you a piece of paper with her neat handwriting on it. "A rope, some small stones, fruit." You read the list aloud and she nodded "Sora's getting the other stuff." You nodded and saw her fiddling with something "whatcha got there Kairi?" You asked taking a look. She showed you four Thalassa shells in the shape of a star, the last one in her hand. "Im making a good luck charm so we can find each other if we get separated. Sailors used to wear them for protection, a safe voyage. The four of us will always be together." Your eyes widened at her words and your head began to hurt

The tall blue-haired girl walked away from the circle as she spoke "so long as you and your friends carry good luck charms shaped like it, nothing can ever drive you apart." You smiled as you looked down at the pretty purple charm. "You'll always find your way back to each other.." she said softly as she looked at her charm before turning back to your group. "Technically, I think you're supposed to make them with seashells, but I did the best with what I had."

You blinked to find Kairi shaking you. Funny, you didn't remember falling down. "Hisa, you okay?" She asked as you sat up "Y-Yeah..I'm alright." You grabbed the purple star pendant on your necklace and studied it. It looked a little similar to the ones the people in your vision had. Kairi grabbed your other hand and pulled you up. "Thanks, Kairi." You let go of the pendant and turned your attention back to Kairi. She sighed and checked you over for injuries. "Gee, I'm sure glad you're not captain" she teased. "Hey! Don't count me out yet! We haven't picked a captain yet." You huffed and she stopped laughing, a sheepish expression appearing on her face "oh...while you were asleep earlier, Sora and Riku had a race to decide captain.." your jaw dropped "Aw no fair! I wanted to be captain!" You complained and she giggled "Don't worry! Sora's captain." She said before the two of you began to talk about the boys...particularly how Kairi thought Sora was so dreamy. You didn't really think of the two of them like that, though you did enjoy looking at them...but that's besides the point, you'd never tell her that. Talking to Kairi always made you feel better, she was your best friend after all. Soon your frustration about not being captain and the race left your mind...little did you know, the prize for winning wasn't being captain. It was to share a Paopu fruit with either Kairi, or you.

After you and Sora finished getting the supplies, you taking much longer because you kept getting distracted by Kairi, the four of you decided to meet by the curved Paopu tree. You were headed there when Sora came running over to you, making you giggle. "Hey." You greeted and he gave you a lazy smile "Can I talk to you about something?" He asked making you tilt your head and nod "sure.." he took your hand and led you to the cave "L-Listen...earlier some guy in a cloak was in here, standing right there." He pointed over to the weird door that none of you could ever open "Are you sure Sora?" You asked giving him a suspicious look and he nodded and explained his weird dreams and how the guy told him the 'door has been opened' and how the world is 'tied to the darkness' "Sora, i think you're just nervous about tomorrow." You placed a hand on his shoulder and gave him a reassuring smile. He sighed and nodded "yeah, you're probably right.." the two of you then started to make your way to the Paopu tree.

OPTIONAL SORA ROMANCE SCENE
As you turned to leave something caught your eye. A few weeks after you came to the island, you and Sora drew pictures of each other, only now, something was added to the drawing. "Huh?" You tried to go closer to see what it was when Sora grabbed your wrist "H-Hey! We should really get going." He said seeming nervous as you tilted your head "Sure, but I wanna see the drawing." He shook his head "N-No you don't, now come on!" He pulled out of the gave making you giggle. "Sora slow down!" He stopped and sighed "sorry!" He said grinning and you gave him your own smile. He liked your smile, it made him happy. Something about you has always seemed familiar and he didn't know why. He felt a tear roll down his cheek as a pang of sadness went through his heart. "Sora!" You stepped closer to him in concern as he wiped it away. "Sorry, d-dont know where it came from." He gave you a smile before composing himself "alright come on. The others are waiting." You nodded in agreement before the two of you headed to the Paopu tree
OPTIONAL SCENE END

As the two of you left the cave Sora spotted Kairi at the docs, He quickly ran over to her and you made to follow before you looked over to see Riku up on the elevated part of the island, leaning against the Paopu tree. You smiled and made your way over to him.

OPTIONAL RIKU ROMANCE SCENE
You ran into the cabin, up the steps, and across the bridge to the Paopu tree. You tried to catch your breath as you came to a stop next to him. "Hi." You giggled and he gave you a smile "hey." You hopped onto the tree and watched the sunset with him. "Hisa" you turned your attention over to him. "Whatever happens, I'll always find you. I'll be with you, no matter what." Riku was known for being more serious than Sora, but that was a little weird "Yeah, uh, me too." You said awkwardly and the corners of his mouth twitched upwards. "Don't lose that charm I made you." He said and you nodded
"Of course! I'll always keep it safe." You promised and he smiled "tomorrow's the big day." He said and you nodded "yeah..tomorrow, everything will change." You had no idea how right you were.
OPTIONAL ROMANCE SCENE END

Sora and Kairi soon made it over to the tree, the four of you talking and laughing about anything and everything as the sun went down. You soon went to the docks, got in your boats, raced back to the main island before you all went your separate ways home— well you and Riku lived next to each other so you spent a few more minutes with him. Once you got home you had dinner, washed up and headed upstairs for the night. In just a few hours you're whole life would change...again.
