You're scared
Fear has got you
And its using me as a hostage.
"Youre gonna ruin her"
"Shes gonna end up broken like you"
"All you'll give her is pain"
It says as it whispers in your ear. You look into my eyes and see tears forming and gliding down my cheeks. Ive reached for you, you seen. A few steps back youve taken and fear loosens its grip.
"Youre fucked up, shes gonna end up just like you"
A few more steps back youve taken
Soon, im gone. You walk back up to where i stood and see a mirror. You see yourself and theres a person behind you. You look into its eyes and its you. You are the fear youre afraid of. Youve talked yourself into hating yourself. Youve talked yourself into leaving me. You were so scared of the fear of projecting your habits onto me youve created this shell.
You thought of the worst things and put them into yourself, only it wasnt you. You made a aura of bad behaviors you kept away from me. Youve always protected me from it. Youve just picked a battle with yourself and lost me in the process.
