"Lyra! They want you here!"
After the whole 'Mike' thing, I was saved by an urgent call from Alice.
"Who Alice!"
I shout back at her. I can physically feel her roll her eyes through the phone. My mates crowded around me, listening in on us.
"The Volturi Lyra! The Volturi want you!"
She says in sadness, I can hear my mates take a sharp breath in and some growl. It reverberating off me.
"Their like the vampire government, our father is required to report any oddities with them. And he mentioned you! They want to see you!"
She shouts out in a high pitched tone. I take it all in slowly.
The vampire government wants to see me.
Me.
A siren.
In Voltaire Italy.
A dry place with blazing sun.
Sirens for thousands of years have been in hiding. Very rarely have they mentioned what they are to outsiders. Their usually secluded, anti-social and elusive. Only venturing out for breeding, feeding and mating.
I broke all the norms for my kind. I'm social, friendly and adventurous.
But I still know my boundaries, as I should. But when I met the Cullens I knew I could trust them, and just I HAD to tell my mates.
Why did that stupid vampire tell them about me!
Like what the heck! Did he not just realize how much danger he put me in!?
Well I guess it is better than the humans finding out. If they did I would be put in an aquarium on display, or worse, cut open or experimented on. I shiver visibly at the thought.
"When?"
I say straight to the point through the receiver. Alice stutters out a response in surprise, shocked at the calmness of my voice.
"I-in three days Lyra, and be ready. They got better since they found their mate but their still cold and ruthless."
She says in a soft tone, warning me.
Three days from now. Saint Marcus's day.
Everybody will be at the church, wearing red.
How ironic.
Lets hope no blood will be shed.
"Do you know what they want from me exactly?"
I question her. A long sigh comes from the other end of the phone.
"I'm sorry, I really don't. Lets just hope it's not anything too serious."
She says back. We say our goodbyes and I hang up first, ending the conversation.
"Your not going."
I can hear Sam's deep voice say from next to me. I look at him staright in the eyes with a soft expression plastered on my face.
"Well it looks like I don't have much of a choice."
