>Tyler's POV<

It's the night before the contest and I can't sleep a wink. Instead, I'm outside sitting by the cliff, watching the ocean beat against it as the moon keeps me company. Tomorrow's the very last contest before the grand festival and my last chance to get in. Aside from trying to win over this Hitmonchan, training with Lance, and all this other conditioning, I haven't really had time to work on and perfect a new routine. It wasn't even enough time to teach my Pokémon new moves for the upcoming contest.

"UGH!", I groaned out loud and laid back.

If only I'd gotten the chance to participate in the Satesy Town contest, I for sure could've won. The contest was late in the evening, meaning by the time it started it was going to be nightfall. Umbreon and I had prepared the perfect performance round piece. It's a shame we worked so hard, only for her not to be able to perform it. Hmmm...

I sat up straight and unlatched Umbreon's pokèball. "Umbreon, center stage," I said throwing out her Pokèball. She appeared before me, looking around confused.

"Hey Umbreon, I want to apologize for working you so hard and not letting you be able to showcase your performance in the Satesy Town contest," I reasoned, petting her head. She leaned into my hand. "Umbre".

I guess that was her way of saying don't worry about it. "How about we put on a show of our own, right here. What do you say?"

Umbreon instantly perked up. "Umbreon!"

"I knew you'd like that. Let's go," I said getting to my feet as Umbreon took a stance.

"Now entering the stage is Tyler, with his amazing, oh so beautiful, oh so talented and graceful Umbreon!", I cupped my hands around my mouth to yell an announcement out for Umbreon and finished it off with the sound of cheering from the crowd. Umbreon tackled me to the ground and nuzzled me. I guess that was her way of saying she loved the introduction.

"Okay, okay. Don't leave the crowd waiting Umbreon." She nodded and jumped back into her ready stance as I stood to my feet.

"Umbreon, kick it off with Moonlight!", I yelled. The moon behind us began to shimmer and illuminate, causing the yellow rings on Umbreon's body to glow. It showed off how beautiful she was and her shiny coat while also illuminating the field and putting essence on how full the moon is.

"Now Umbreon use Confuse Ray!"

The yellow rings in her body began to glow brighter before yellow rings left her body and began dancing around in the air. We worked hard to get her Confuse Ray to take on such a unique form.

"Go!", I yelled as Umbreon began jumping so elegantly through the hoops. Umbreon is literally the most graceful Pokémon I've ever met. With her body still glowing, she jumped through the rings having fun and showcasing how agile she is. I have to admit, it was pretty fun to watch.

"Alright Umbreon, let's bring this to a close. Use Psychic!"

After jumping through one final hoop, Umbreon jumped before me, eyes glowing and the rings immediately stopped.

"You know what to do!"

The rings began to spin rapidly as they shot into the sky in a single filed line, spinning faster and faster by the second. "Dark Pulse!", I yelled as Umbreon's eyes stopped glowing and the rings began to fall above her, still spinning rapidly. She shot her dark pulse straight up into the rings, causing it to explode in the most beautiful display of colors, the effects of the moonlight still illuminating the entire show. As Umbreon bowed her head, I took my bow as well as her rings finally stopped glowing and the moonlight effect wore off. "And that's curtain everyone."
