>Chapter 1: The Calling<

>Nichi's POV (Sinnoh)<

"30 seconds left on the clock, and both coordinators are neck and neck. Nichi and her Mismagius aren't giving an inch, and neither is Alice and her Kricketune. This match could go either way.", said the announcer Vivian.

"Kricketune, use Silver Wind!", Alice called out. The Kricketune used a beautiful silver wind that was ready to hit my Mismaguis hard.

"No you don't! Mismaguis, Magical Leaf, go!", I yelled. Mismaguis quickly took advantage of that Silver Wind to make the already colorful leaves even more beautiful while stopping the attack altogether.

"Kricketune, use X-Scissor!", screamed Alice.

The Kricketune jumped up and fierce-fully, yet gracefully cut up the leaves which circled her in magnificent colors and making her appeal so beautiful.

"15 seconds!", I heard Vivian say with a lot of spunk.

"Mismaguis, Shadow Ball!", I cried out. Mismaguis launched her attack. "Follow it up with Shock Wave!", I commanded. Mismaguis launched her blue colored shock wave at the shadow ball. This created a beautiful light colored "shadow ball". All I could hear were people gasping.

"Wow! That's amazing. The shadow ball absorbed the electricity and transformed into a beautiful ball of light.", the announcer Vivian stated.

"Kricketune, dodge!", Alice desperately cried out. But it was too late. The attack hit the Kricketune dead on.

"Kricketune, no!!", Alice screamed. Just as Kricketune struggled back to its feet, time ran out.

"That's it! Time's up! And the winner of Daybreak Town's Pokemon Contest is...", Vivan said as we all looked up at the scoreboard.

And I clearly had more points left in my circle than she did.

"Nicholette!", Vivian confirmed.

"Yes! Mismaguis you did it! Thank you so much!", I said as I forced her into a hug. She's not much of an affectionate Pokemon.

"Here's the Daybreak Town's contest ribbon, presented to Nicholette by Mr. Sukizo. This is Nicholette's fifth ribbon, meaning she now qualifies for the Grand Festival four months from now. Congratulations!", announced Vivian.

"Remarkable work out there. Hope to see you at the upcoming Grand Festival.", Mr. Sukizo said before handing me my ribbon.

"Yes sir. Thanks a lot!", I said receiving my fifth, and final ribbon. I did it.

>Later After the Contest<

Alice and I sat at the table in the cafeteria of the Pokemon Center with our partner Pokemon. My Glameow was sitting up on the edge of the table and her Roserade just casually stood at her side.

"You were great out there!", said my best friend, cousin, and biggest rival, Alice.

"Thanks! Mismaguis and I worked hard to perfect our moves. But you and Kricketune were as hard as ever.", I stated.

"Yea, but we still didn't win. I guess this was just payback for me beating you at the last two contests.", Alice gloated while flipping her shoulder length red hair.

Alice is a fair skinned trainer, who is also taller than me. I'm like, 5'7 and she's 5'11. She has pretty green eyes and a great sense of fashion, just like me. Her being my cousin and all, we have a lot of similarities. I am fair skinned as well, but I have dark brown hair that stops 3 inches above my waist and green eyes as well. They often say we look alike, but I don't see it. She and I grew up together in Floaroma Town. Our mothers (sisters) owned the flower shop there. Alice started her journey three months before me with her Budew, but it didn't take me and Glameow too long to catch up with her.
