[Fairy Tail] Natsu Dragneel x Reader pt. 1

For the nth time today, you let out a deep sigh as Natsu, and Happy followed you around magnolia with a depressing aura surrounding them. Ever since you came back this morning from the magic council, they keep on prying you to let them join in your next S-class mission, but the task given to you was extremely dangerous than your previous job request, it was a do-or-die, and you didn't want the dragon slayer to get involve because of the potential danger including the blue exceed.

Dusk finally arrived and you come to a full halt. Reaching the central park where the giant tree is located, reminiscing back to the unforgettable event that happened on this very spot a few years ago.

The tree was lighting beautifully in a kaleidoscope of different colours because of the magic you casted on and it was already midnight with no one in sight with only a few an hours left for you to depart for your next mission. Although the tranquil moment was interrupted upon hearing faint footsteps getting nearer, already aware who it was because of your superior senses.

"What are you doing here and awake in the middle of the night--- Natsu?" You turned to face the dragon slayer with your arms crossed in seeing him attempting to jump on you but failed miserably. "I would like to ask the same to you, (First Name)! It's not fair your senses are inhuman!" Natsu shouted that you shush him immediately with your index finger, using your teleportation magic in plain sight for his voice was too loud. Heaving out a breath, you stifle a laugh before speaking. "You should know people are sleeping peacefully at a time like this, Natsu." You whispered before removing your finger away that he pouted like a child at your scolding, noticing the visible blush rushing to his cheeks that you didn't pay mind to.

"Now then, care to explain why you're here in the first place?" You spoke up causing the pink haired male to stiffen in place, forming a lump in his throat. "I- ah, well..." Natsu gulped, his black irises averting from your (Eye Color) ones. "Is there something you want to tell me, Salamander?"

"I came here on my own accord." The dragon slayer excused that you sighed and shook your head. "I believe that's not the case, judging by your tone of voice." You utter, "Tell me the truth, Natsu. I'll listen." The pink haired male eyes widen before looking at you with a wide smile gracing his lips, eyes twinkling like a kid who just received a reward from his parent. "Then bring me with you on your next mission, (First Name)!"

Reverting back to the present, you look behind you. Meeting the eyes of a sulking Natsu as he mouthed 'You promised' underneath his breath. Placing the palm of your hand against your forehead, remembering that you did before letting out a defeated sigh. "Okay, okay, fine--- you both can tag along." You faced the pink-haired male his expression changing into pure excitement. "Alright! We're going on an S-class quest, Happy!" Natsu said enthusiastically as he and the blue exceed cheered with glee. "Aye, sir!" That was fast... You couldn't help but laugh at their antics but it faltered shortly as a feeling of heaviness began to dwell in the pit of your stomach.

"Why do I suddenly feel so uneasy?" You wonder.
