Fives misses Gamora. He's certain that if she knew, he would never hear the end of it.
He feels her absence every moment and everywhere. He misses her voice when he says something to Dolores that he's certain she would scoff at or tease about. He misses the way that she attempts to hide her emotions and the way that every so often when she's less guarded, he can see whatever she's feeling in her eye; he can see the hint of a smile in her features and her thoughtfulness written in the furrow of her brows and pout of her lips. He misses the way that she can force him to calm down and look at every situation logically with just a few words.
Mostly, he just misses her.
The separation, though, painful as it is necessary. Necessary to keep her alive and with him. The two did their best to find a solution to her curse using her father's notes and their own knowledge of their abilities, but all of their efforts were to no avail. In the meantime, Gamora's condition only continued to deteriorate until the point that she could hardly go a few hours without having another tremor, each one worse than the last. Ultimately, they came to the conclusion that the only way to keep her alive long enough for them to figure out a cure was to put her back into the capsule.
