The Colonels POV

I looked up from my lap and saw the huge stone mansion in front off me, my eyes widening at how huge this place was. Mark was really up there on the high class status.

The limo came to a stop near the front of the door. A man with curly brown hair came to my side of the car and opened my door, his smile was bright and could surely brighten up anyone's mood.

"Hello sir. You must be the colonel. My name is Benjamin, I am Mr. Iplier's butler and I will be assisiting you this wonderful evening." He said in a cheery tone.

As soon as I heard his voice, I realized he was the one who answered the phone when I called that morning. I smiled and slowly climbed out of the car, examining the area I was in.

I looked down at my bag that was now near me and went to grab it, being stopped by Benjamin, his gloved hand brushing against my exposed skin.

"Let me take that for you. Mark has instructed for us to make you as comfortable as possible. Go ahead and look around." He quirked up before leaving with my bag into the huge building.

I took a deep breath and walked inside, taking in the scenery that surrounded me like a huge wave causing me to go under water in a quick second without me even taking a breath.

The inside had a dark but bright atomsphere. The walls, decorations, and even furniture had a dark color but there was bright colors around the place to counter for it.

I walked towards the fireplace and saw it wasn't lit, also taking note it was a wooden fireplace.

I kept walking around, making my way to the living room. There were three huge couches to sit in, a small library in the back of the room to keep somone occupied, and a tiny stand with some bottles of alcohol.

I walked over to the shelf to see what was there, most of the bottles either bourbon or whiskey, one bottle a red mixture for cocktails.

I shrugged and grabbed a small glass, pouring a little whiskey into it but not too much, just enough to feel a little burn.

I swirled the drink around the glass before gulping it down in one go, coughing a little from the burning but then my mouth felt a nice warm feeling and soon I felt relaxed again.

I set the glass to the side so someone knew it was dirty or even for me to use again later during the game.

I walked out of the living room and into the dining room, seeing a small circular table set up with cards, poker chips, and chairs all around. I guess I was the lucky winner who found out where our game as taking place.

I exited the room so I didn't mess up anything that Mark had set up for us tonight.

I walked back to where I was again slowly, almost getting lost in the process.

When I got there, I saw the shadow of another figure but then it disappeared. Must have been Benjamin or something. I walked back in and examined the stairs, touching the smooth wood that made the railing.

"Colonel?" I heard someone say behind me.

I frowned and turned around, a huge smile spreading across my face, my heart nearly pounding out of my chest.

"Damien?"
