Quick author's note: this story is more fun if you're familiar with the Sunset Forest, but you can enjoy it even if you're not. I mostly go on writing sprees at two in the morning, upload a bunch and then leave for a while, so if you see me uploading, just know that I can't sleep ;)
Anyway, here's the story:
My name is Raeln. I wasn't always a half vampire.
About a year and a half ago, I became the assistant of a vampire named Larten Crepsley. I died, abandoned my humanity, to become a creature of the night. Not that I haven't been called that before...
Do I have my regrets? Not so much, if I'm being honest with you. I was always a loner. Friends? Not an issue. Family? I hadn't lived at home in a long time. All I had left was my best friend. And Larten of course.
Now, war is brewing amongst the vampires. But, I'm getting ahead of myself. It all started on an ordinary Saturday, at the Cirque du Freak.
