The sound of the piercing alarm filled my ears. I open my eyes slowly to be met by the blinding sun peaking through the curtains. I turned to the alarm clock and slammed on the off button. It was a horrible sound and one that would surely give me a headache. I looked to my left to find the bed empty once again but there was evidence he slept there last night as the sheet was all creased up.

I started to get up and a sharp pain rushed through my chest. I gritted my teeth and got up slowly, the pain still coursing through my body. I lifted my tank top up to see the black bruises forming on my ribs. I pressed on them and winced at the pain. They would be hard to cover up seen as we live next to a beach. The girls just love hanging out there in bikinis. I can't because everybody will see. I felt the tears forming in my eyes as I looked down at the diamond on my finger. What was I getting myself into?

I got out of our bed and made my way downstairs. I looked in the living room and the kitchen, Matt was nowhere to be found. He was probably in the games room. He was always in there. He never came out unless the guys were here. He wasn't always like this, one day he just snapped and now there was no way out.

I decided to make a cup of coffee for him and take it downstairs. He would probably like that and I needed to get on his good side for a while. My body couldn't handle anymore trauma. I walked down the stairs and into the basement that was the converted games room. I took a deep breath in and walked through the door.

Matt was sat on the chair with a headset on, eyes fixed to the tv screen as he shot everything in his path. I walked up to him and placed the drink on the table next to him, shaking whilst I was doing it.

"Did I tell you to come in and give me a drink?" he growled. He paused the game and his hazel eyes looked me up and down in disgust.

"No but I thought you would like a drink," I mumbled.

"Well, I didn't want one. How dare you assume that I wanted something," he spat.

"I- I'm sorry," I cried not wanting him to get so angry.

He started to laugh evilly as he got out of his seat and walked over to me. He lunged forward and grabbed my hair. He yanked it so hard I felt the roots leave my head. The pain was excruciating and it was so much that it made my knees buckle. I fell to the floor sobbing my eyes out wanting this all to end.

"Please, don't do this," I begged.

"You need to be taught a lesson. You need to know not to disobey me," he replied.

He pushed me off of my knees so I was laying on my back. His foot collided with my ribs as he repeatedly kicked the same spot over and over again. I cried out in pure agony. The pain rushed through my body and I let the tears flow. It all became too much. I could hear his sinister laugh in the background as he enjoyed watching me struggle under the pain he was giving me. I hated him. He made me feel sick.

He gave me one last powerful kick and I heard the sickening crack of my ribs shattering into pieces. I screamed out as the painful sensation took over my body and all I could do was lay on the floor and wait for the pain to die down.

"You're pathetic," he spat as he walked away from me. I heard his footsteps leave the room as he harshly slammed the door behind him causing the room to shake.

I laid there for what seemed an eternity. I couldn't move and I certainly couldn't get out of the room. I just wished I could have the old Matt back, I would give anything. I knew that wouldn't happen. The person I fell in love with was long gone and the person that now possessed him was a vicious creature, one that enjoyed what he was doing to me.
