"God this was a tough day. My arm really hurts from all the knife throwing." Kate sighed.

We lied next to each other in my bed and looked up at the ceiling, how we had often done it back home on the rooftop.

"Just wait til we start fighting." I laughed and she let out an annoyed groan.

"At least we got tattoos and had some fun with the others today."

I smirked. "Well, someone seemed to have a lot of fun with Noah." She looked at me and her cheeks turned bright red. "What, me?"

"C'mon I saw you blush every time he was around you."

"Fine. Maybe I like him." She smiled and looked down, fidgeting with her hands.

"Maybe?" I laughed.

"That's enough about me! What about you and Liam?" She was the one smirking now.

"What?"

"I saw you touch his tattoos earlier." She winked at me.

"Ohh no, you got the wrong idea there! He's just a friend. I can't deny that he's hot but not my type." I really just thought of him as a good friend.

Kate sighed. "You're so boring."

I just shook my head and laughed at her. "Thanks."

"We should go to bed and get some sleep now." I yawned. "Tomorrow will be tough."

She nodded and hushed away into her own bed.

I closed my eyes and found myself being caught in a carousel of thoughts. Every idea, notion and event from today replayed in my mind, demanding analysis before I could be allowed to sleep.

Becoming a member of Dauntless still didn't feel real. Everything here was so different in comparison to Erudite but it felt good.

My thoughts wandered off to a certain Dauntless leader and I wondered if he had always been this ruthless or if transferring to Dauntless had changed him.

Maybe there is more to him than the surface shows...

Eventually the carousel of thoughts came to a stop and my mind was able to meander freely into a deep slumber.

. . .

Hearing a loud and sudden bang, I burrowed myself deeper into the warm, soft sheets trying to cover my ears with the pillow. But it was no use, the noise wouldn't stop.

I rubbed the remainders of sleep from my eyes, turned my head around to see where the terrible noise was coming from and spotted Four standing at the entrance of the dormitory.

"I want everyone in the training room in 15 minutes!" He shouted and left.

I closed my eyes and lied back down. "What time is it?"

"5.45." Alex replied.

Jesus Christ, this is way too early.

I managed to roll out of bed a few minutes later and dragged myself over to the bathroom.

I changed into a black tank top and some training leggings. Then I put my hair up into a high ponytail and walked back outside to the others.

When everyone was ready we headed towards the training room.

"What do you think we'll do today?"

I looked at Alex and shrugged my shoulders. "Hopefully something fun."
