Evangeline's P.O.V

"You're late." Said our boss when we walked in. We looked at each other confused.

"We don't work Mondays." Replied Kaela.

"Well you do now." She was such a bitch, I can't believe that she forgot that after we have support group we go to the hospital.

"But we have to go to the hospital in ten minutes." I said. She tutted and walked away. Why the fuck did she tut? It's not our fault we have cancer!

"Well, sorry that we have cancer!" I shouted at her, not being able to stop myself. She turned around and shouted back.

"You're fired and banned from this Starbucks for life!" We walked out of the shop and back to the car.

"I'm sorry Kaela, I couldn't help it." I said sadly. She put her hand on my shoulder.

"It's okay, I was going to say the same." She smiled lightly. I was so lucky to have her as a friend.

-30 minutes later-

We arrived at the hospital and waited for the doctor to tell us some more bad news. "Evangeline Winters and Makaela Smith, go to room 94." We walked into the room and sat down, waiting for Dr. Harrison to enter the room.

"Hi girls, so, there's quite a lot of bad news but there is a little good news too." She said sadly.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Well, let's start with Makaela first. You're lung cancer has worsened so you're going to have to wear an oxygen tank so you will be able to breathe. Your brain cancer is still in its same state and we'll hopefully be able to remove the tumour next year.

"Evangeline, your stomach cancer has sadly worsened too. You will find it more hard to digest your food and you will throw up frequently. Luckily, the cancer has stayed there, so there is still hope that won't spread. Take these tablets to help you digest, have one with every meal or snack you have." She handed me the tablets and a box of tissues. I wiped away my tears and watched Dr. Harrison put the oxygen tank on Kaela.

"Thank you." We both said, getting out of our chairs.

"If you need anything girls, I'm just a phone call away." She gave us her number and we left the hospital.

Kaela's P.OV

We got in the car in silence. I sat there for a minute staring into space, then I heard Evan burst into tears next to me.

"Evan... Its okay. We can make it through this!" I reassure her.

"And what if we can't!" Evan cries. "We have cancer, can't you see that not even 50% of people with cancer live!"

"I'm not going to let you sit there and try to convince me that I'm going to die! I'm trying to give us hope! Because hope is all we have left! And if you're going to sit there and act like this is the end of the world then you can. And that is fine by me, I don't need to put up with this right now." I get out of the car with my oxygen tank and start to walk home.

"Kaela! Please, don't leave me!" I ignore her and carry on walking up the street. "Kaela, please!"

"I'll see you at home." I say, feeling a tear fall down my face. I walk down the main street for a while, but there are too many people tripping over my tank so I decide to go down an alley way that is also a short cut to the house.

As I walk down the alley way, there is a group of people, I can't decide whether to risk this... Ah well, once I'm past them I'll be okay... I rush down the alleyway as quickly as possible, as I get to the group one of them steps out, I trip over him and my oxygen tank becomes unattached from me. My vision becomes blurry because I hit my head pretty hard.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" A gentle voice says.

"My oxygen... tank. I... need it." I say, suddenly struggling to breath. Which seems strange to me.

"Let me help you!" I feel a strong grip around my waist as my oxygen tank gets put back in place. I look around and feel safe but weak. My vision starts to blur more. "Please, don't die! Call an ambulance now, Ashley! Gerard, help me!"

Ashley? Gerard? This all seems too weird, it couldn't be... this couldn't be. It's a dream, I know it.

I suddenly black out.
