*Dramatically drops to knees and puts a hand over heart with tears in eyes*

Dear readers and fans (including the ones who have forsaken me because I'm sure I had at least 181 fans last I checked and now it's 177, but it's cool) I deeply apologize for my long term absence, but I really needed a break.

To make matters worse, I live in New York and we have just been through this horrible storm, Hurricane Sandy, but fortunately for me where I live not much damage has been done and my loved ones are all safe. Thank God.

But I happened to check my comments today on the last chapter and one recent comment happened to stand out to me that I think will result in the return of my abnormal imagination, so in conclusion...enjoy the story and lets not have to suffer a whole length of time just for some comments and votes like seriously, guys.

Chapter 17

I'm not sure what happened after I jumped off that cliff, but I do remember dragging myself out of the water no longer in my wolf form. Looking back into the water, I could see Kayla unconsciously floating face up in the water and I ran back in to help her out. On the other side of the river, I could see Kim dragging Kelvin out. He was faintly awake and coughing up water and a mess of blood. There was a large gaping hole in his stomach and it looked like he was losing a lot of blood.

"Is he okay?" I asked Kim as Kayla began to open her eyes and look around, coughing up water as I pumped her chest.

"I don't know," she replied sadly, placing her forehead on his.

A flapping sound made me glance defensively over my shoulder until I realized it was Angel. She must have taken her bat form and flew down instead of jumping like the rest of us. I sighed heavily as I curled up into a ball wearily and she placed a blanket around me. Where the hell they keep pulling blankets out from, I have no idea. Kim seemed to be carrying a bag of clothes for everyone which I felt would only slow us down.

"So now what?" I muttered, feeling my eyelids beginning to get heavy. We had been washed down a little further down stream than I had expected away from the waterfall, so at least we could rest for a few.

"We find help." Angel replied, pulling a shorts and tank top on. "But we have to rest. Especially you and Kelvin. You two fought so hard."

I grunted in response as I laid down and turned over in the blanket, not bothering to put on clothes, before my emotions could take over me. I shut my eyes tightly and blanked my thoughts out as I felt my body begin to overheat again. I still didn't feel safe and my edginess was pulling on my body to change to protect myself as tired as I was, but I knew if I did it would just exhaust me completely, so I allowed myself to fall into a restless sleep.

"Hehehe," someone giggled.

"Shut up." I groaned, tucking my face away sleepily until the smell of grass caught my nose and I jumped up so fast with the blanket around me, my neck cricked. A growl escaped my lips as my eyes warily scanned through the trees suspiciously.

A twig broke catching my attention and I was on my feet before I could stop myself, pulling the blanket up with me and off of Angel who had curled up under it with me. She bolted upright in surprise and stared at me.

"What is it?" she asked with wide eyes, looking in the direction I was staring at.

"I heard something." I whispered. I looked back at the others on the other side of the bank. They were awake as well all watching me. The hole in Kelvin's stomach was now patched up pretty good, but he was still asleep...or unconscious. I'm not sure. I looked back at Angel who was already on her feet and nodded at her. "Lets go."
