Chapter one

Natsu's POV

I should ask Lucy to go on a mission with me, since her rent is due in a few days .

I reluctantly was in a good mood and got dressed. I should go to Lucy's house so she can make me breakfast. I would go to the guild hall but nothing can beat her cooking.

I wake up happy and tell him my plan, he eagerly giggles

"Aye! But you're gonna get kicked so I'll go" he says

I laugh already picturing the "MY ROOM!" Shrieks I'll get from her.

"Let's go Natsu!" He said while picking me up and flying to our second home (Lucy's house)

We go in through the window and I look and see she's not in her bed. I shrug and get into her bed. Feeling the faint warm ness and I fall asleep

Lucy's POV

Finally. I woke up and see that Natsu's not in my bed and consider it to be a good day. The shower water feels amazing..

I wash off the soap and get in my towel and walk out to see Natsu already dead on my bed. I've always had feelings for this dork.. but I bottle them up. I can't bring myself to confess. He seems happy without anyone and I wouldn't want to ruin our friendship. He's an amazing guy so I just can't.. he's still a massive pain in the ass though.

"Natsu get up!" I yell

"Hey Luce can you make me food?" He said in a drowsy voice

"Fine. But quit drooling on my bed!" He instantly peeled up the moment I said fine. I hesitantly turned and began making eggs and bacon.

Once I finished he basically ran to the table and began stuffing his face while I poured me happy and Natsu juice. I felt like we could be a -no Lucy get those thoughts out of your head

"Hey Luce you ok? You look red are you sick?" Crap I was blushing!

"No I'm fine I just feel a bit off today."

"If you say so.."

After we all finished he walked with me to the guild hall.

"Let's go on a mission!" Natsu said holding a job

I looked at it and cringed.

Need a good looking mage to infiltrate a house and tell us what they found half a million jewel

It's good money but I remembered one of our first missions I think second, where he tricked me into wearing a maid outfit

"I'm not feeling up to any jobs today.. can you go alone on another one?" I said since that memory killed all motivation

"But it's no fun if your not with me!" He complained. I stood my ground and ordered a milkshake from Mira.

After a few minutes he picked one and left with happy

"Why didn't you go with him Lucy?" Mira pried

"All the jobs he takes me on are either for my sex appeal or something he does basically all on his own.. I have no motivation nowadays except paying rent." I said sighing

"Hey Lucy why don't we take a job together?" Lisanna said coming into our convo

"I would but I told Natsu I wasn't feeling it. I don't wanna make him feel bad. Tomorrow though.." I said

"Aw you're so loyal.." Mira AND lisanna squealed

I sigh and turn around to hide my blushing face

"I'm going to be out for a few hours. Going to shop around town." I said waving goodbye to my friends

Three hours later

Natsu's POV

That mission was so easy. That much money just to beat up an intruder? I want to surprise Lucy..

"Hey happy what's something lucy would like?"

"Lushee? Um I guess clothes?"

It's settled I'm going to the store to get her some clothes as a thank you for putting up with me..

I smiled and walked into town..

I was 50 feet away from the store when I smelled Lucy. I walked closer and see a guy with his arm around her waist and kissing her.

"Oh." was all I managed to get out

I turned around and left. Feeling hurt. Feeling like he just ripped Lucy away from me. Happy questioningly followed me. I felt tears coming out of my eyes but I didn't know why. She always talked about getting a boyfriend and meeting the guy of her dreams but why was this any different. I know I'm dense as hell by why does this hurt my heart so much.

"Natsu are you ok?" I'm guessing happy didn't see her..

"Hey go to Lucy's apartment.. I'll be there in a bit ok?"

He gave me a confused look but agreed.

I ran to the guild hall tears and all

"Natsu!" Lisanna said "are you ok.. you're crying."

"I need to leave.." I was surprised by my own words "on a job for a bit."

"You just got back from one? Are you sure you're in a state to go on another one?" She said gesturing to Mira to come over.

"Natsu. What happened clearly your not ok." Mira said trying to comfort me.

"I- I saw lucy kiss a guy I don't know why but my body hurts like hell.. I just want to get away for awhile.. to take my mind off it by fighting someone.."

They all look at each other in surprised expressions

"Just don't tell anyone at how pitiful I'm being." I said

"... ok but you know you're gonna worry Lucy..?" Lisanna said

"She's right.. I can't stop you but you should atleast tell her your going on a job Natsu. It's your job as her best friend not to make her worry.." Mira said nodding her head

"Best friend? How am I her best friend when she doesn't even tell me when she's going out with someone.." I got up and picked a job

"I'm taking this one.." I left before I could hear them argue with me.

I'm alone. Happy's not here nor Lucy. Guess I'm walking to the next town. I should get there by morning I should get my bag packed.

I walked home and throw in 5 days worth of clothes my toothbrush comb and some food.

And off I was. On my first job alone.
