The next day

Lucy's POV

"Natsu what are you doing here?" I said getting up and seeing the fire mage in my kitchen

"You don't remember?" He said putting jam on some really burnt toast

"Ugh not really.." I said in a sad tone. What did happen?

"Well I heard you were sick when I got back so I rushed over here. I wanted to make sure you were ok.. I'm sorry for sleeping on your bed with you.." he said. Wait did Natsu apologize?

"Eh?!" I said in a surprised tone

"Well you were on medication so I guess that's why you let me sleep." He said

"Where were you.." I said tearing up

"I was bodyguarding a client.. Lia. I'm sorry for leaving.." he said with a sad look

"Natsu you have no idea how worried I was!" I said running to him.

"Really?" He said while I bear hugged him.

"Yes really! Ever since you left for a year and I got you back.. I wanna be by your side. Always!" I can't believe those words came out of my mouth. But Natsu being the dense idiot he is.

Natsu's POV

She... missed me.

I wanna kiss her and make her feel better. But I can't.. she's with a guy. It's not my place to ruin it...

"NATSU!" Lisanna said busting open the door. "MIRA SAID YOU WOULD BE HEAR. Follow me to the guild it's an EmErgEnCY!"

"What's wrong Lis?" I said

"It's about what happened the day you left!" I got what she meant.

"Lucy I'll be back as soon as possible. Please stay here." I said hugging her back and leaving.

"Natsu? Please be safe.." she said drying up her tears.

"This is me we're talking about! I'll bring you something back ok?" I said trying to cheer her up. Hearing this she smiled and nodded as I left and closed her apartment door.

"Ok Lisanna fill me in." I said in a worried tone

"You were wrong!" She said in a gleeful tone

Half way to the guild hall I stopped "EH?"

"Someone pushed themselves on Lucy you silly goose! She was never with a guy!!" Lisanna said

"You could have just said oH nAtsU yOu wErE wrOnG And left! I was getting somewhere!" I said

"We both know you don't have the balls to man up." She said lightly laughing

I looked down with defeat. You're right. I need help.."

"That's why I called you here! Don't worry we got a whole squad to help you!"

We walk into our home and I see Erza, Gray, Mira, And Mavis all huddled together.

"Oh good he's here!" Mira said

"So Natsu. We have a plan to help you." Erza said pointing back to our First Master.

"Romantic plans aren't my specialty but I whipped up something that should work. You and Lucy are close right? Describe your relationship with her." Mavis said with sparkles in her eyes. Now I know she knows how we're close but she probably thinks it like a book.

"Erm well. I met her a few years ago trying to find Igneel.. I brought her back here cause I felt attached to her.." my face was red and I felt really embarrassed how I was basically describing how I fell in love with the blonde mage.

"So he DID bring a girl home!!" She was like a fangirl.

"Yeah.. over time I just couldn't image myself without her. I would sneak into her bed to 'cuddle' with her and I wanna protect her.. at the time I didn't realize my feelings.. I just wanted to be the only guy she needed. So when I saw someone kiss her something instead me broke.." I said eyes filling with tears, "and now by leaving and worrying her I hurt her!"

"Natsu.." Erza said

"It's ok, you guys I'm fine now really.. I just want her to be mine so please First Master.. help me." I said pleading

"Well it's not much but.."

Lucy's POV

25 minute time skip

Where's Natsu? He should be back soon. I hope he's ok..

And right on cue Natsu bursts through my window along with Happy.

"Happy!" I said hugging the blue cat

"Hi Lushee I was getting you flowers but I found Natsu along the way anyways we brought you back gifts!" Happy said holding some chocolate. And Natsu, flowers?

"Natsu! Pink roses.. my favorite.." I said while he handed me them.

(Don't know Lucy's favorite flower but apparently one of her favorite colors is pink)

"I thought you might like em.." he said, "cause they're pretty just like you.." he said the last part really soft I could barely hear it. My eyes widen and he realizes and turns red.

Did I hear him right?..

"Anyways Mira said I should let you rest and your fever should be gone by tomorrow so I'll leave you be Lucy.." he said hugging me again. Why is he being so.. affectionate.. it made my heart flutter..

"You guys can stay.. I don't mind!" I say just before they leave.

"You heard her right Natsu?" Happy said already flying to my bed.

Natsu soon followed and they very quickly fell asleep beside me. I softly smiled and laid down too. The medication and healing took a toll on my stamina.. before dozing off I fiddled with his salmon locks and fell asleep hand on his head.. Natsu.. I love you..
