Natsu's POV

I work up in the house I was working for. I walk out and head downstairs to check if Lia is awake

"Hey Lia you up?" I call out

"Yeah I made us breakfast! Eggs and bacon!"

I frown remembering what Lucy made me.. all this felt surreal. All these emotions I've never felt.

"Hey Natsu are you ok?" She said walking up to me

"Yeah just thinking.." I replied

"Wanna y'all about it over food?" She said sweetly placing a plate of food in front of me. I didn't feel hungry for once in my life..

"Yeah I guess.."

"So what brought you here?" She said picking up a piece of bacon

"I just needed to get away from my friend for awhile." I said poking around at my food

"Why what happened?"

"Well erm.. yesterday I asked with her to go on a job with me but she declined" I said looking down

"She?" She said shocked

"Yeah, and when I got back. I was going to go to the shops to get her a thank you gift when I saw her and this guy kissing."

"..."

"I mean she always talks about getting a boyfriend. And dating but I guess I felt hurt she didn't tell me something like this. I ran to the guild crying and I took a job to clear my head. Not really working though." I said sighing while frustratingly eating some eggs

She giggled and said "you're so dense!"

"How am I dense?" I replied finally feeling some energy

"You'll find out. Maybe this job will help you figure it out." Lia said

"I'm just starting to regret leaving her behind without saying anything. I just hope Mira and Lisanna can keep it a secret." I said

"Can you tell me more about your friend?" She asked

"Yeah sure, her names Lucy and she's a celestial mage. I met her a few years ago.. she's really amazing if you take out her getting mad at me almost daily" I felt my face get warm

"Why does she get mad?" She asked questioningly

"I mean I sneak through her window almost everyday to ask for breakfast and sometimes I annoy her." I said laughing recalling all her yelling

"You two sound like an old married couple!" She laughed

Couple.. I wouldn't mind that.. that would mean Lucy would be my best friend for life wouldn't it?

"I wanna be her annoying bestfriend forever" I proudly said

"That's not what a couple is Natsu" she said

"Then what is it?" I said pushing my Now empty plate of food away.

"Hmm well. For example, it's like wanting to be someone's bestfriend forever but you two love each other and wanna have kids and grow old together. Your partner is your bestfriend and your lover, you know?" Lia said

"I don't understand what it means to romantically love someone.. I know I should get it by now I'm old enough but I've never felt this." I admitted "I love all my friends! Especially Lucy she's the reason why I'm here and why I'm as strong as I am now"

"Hmm tell me. Did you feel upset when Lucy kissed that guy?"

"Of course. I don't like it when guys get all touchy touchy with her." I said recalling all the moments I felt like that.

"What if Lucy let that guy go through her window and she made him breakfast?"

I felt my face make a really weird angry expression "Well I would have to scare him away."

"What if she was next to a guy cuddling with him in bed?"

I snapped. " I'm the only one who can do that stuff with her!" I yelled

"Natsu. Oh geez" she laughed "You're in love with Lucy and it's clearly written all over your face right now."

"What." I said

I felt tears fall from my eyes. A mix of hurt anger and a strange sense of jealousy.

I fell silent. Me in love with Lucy? Impossible..

That time when she was falling from the clock. The time I picked her up from her fight with Flare in the grand magic games. When I caught her when she jumped out knowing I would catch her. All those times I woke up wanting to see her. When I would go on jobs and give her my share so she could pay rent. All those times she's hugged me from behind crying. That time I brought that tree to her window. Everything. I think I understand now..

"I really am in love with her.." I whisper

"Yeah and your such a dummy for accepting this job and running away from her. But looks like fate brought you here so you could figure this out. I guess I really am the matchmaker." She said suddenly switching personalities and laughing

"Well whatever. I should just give her my reward money to make it up to her. Lord knows she's probably gonna miss rent." I laughed

Lucy's POV

We wake up and do the request

Fighting a monster in a town. It would have been slightly hard if the rest of the team wasn't here.

"Hey Lucy are you ok you seem out of it?" Erza said

"No I'm fine but worried about Natsu is all.." I said sighing

"Don't worry I'm sure he'll be back today!" Happy says with a fish in his mouth

"I guess.." I replied

We go on the train and Lisanna sits next to me

"Hey Lucy.. do you like Natsu?" She said with a grin on her face

"Gah! N-no!" I replied back

"Did you just stutter?" She examined my now scarlet red face

"No?"

"I'm calling bullshit!" She said sorta loudly

"Lis! Your being too loud!" I whisper yelled since Gray happy and erza looked up from across ya. I awkwardly smiled and waved at them as they smiled and waved back at me then returning to whatever they were doing.

"Come on you can tell me.!" She said pleading with me with those puppy eyes you can't refuse

"Fine! I do. Are you happy?" I said in a huff.

"I knew it!!" She squealed

"Please don't be like Mira she would probably end up suffocating me in a hug" I said

"Well I'm not like my sister. I'm less worse when it comes to this!!" She said squeezing my hand from glee

"Gee way to keep it on the low." I sarcastically said

Yo so like I drew this chapter awhile back so this is Lia. It's my first digital art piece so like don't judge me too much. I didn't really intend to put her in anything but I needed a character apart from the cast. Yes this bitch has purple skin -3- what an icon.
